So I'm getting ready to replace my ball joints and tie rods, figure while I'm in there I might as well replace the u-joints and wheel bearings on both sides. So I have a couple questions. First tool wise what will I need, I have a front end kit and the ball joint press plus an 8" vise. How about the hub nut and the spring clip I hear so much about what exactly do I need to make removal and installation of these easy? Is there anything else I should be doing while I have it all apart?
But I'd suggest that you first clean and inspect your factory bearings, unless axle was run with loose or dry hubs chances are the bearings are still in good shape with no need to replace them. Will probably need new seals on them tho, just cause they're rubber and so dry out and crack up.
