Gauges all dropped.

Thinking maybe ground issue. oil, volt and fuel gauge all having issues all of a sudden. Oil down to just off bottom, Battery around 8 volts. Fuel pegged to the right. any suggestions as to where to look? Thanks

Some of the Ford trucks used a voltage regulator behind the instrument cluster. As they aged, they would allow the voltage to the gauges to vary. It sounds like this is you're experiencing to me. I don't know if your truck has that type of regulator. This is just one reason why quality aftermarket gauges are highly recommended on this forum. The stock ones weren't even close to being accurate when the truck left the assembly plant. All they're designed to do is make the driver feel good.

Had the same thing happen to me driving to Alabama from OK -- '93 7.3 IDI F350. Checked with Ford, who said to replace the Speed Sensor on the rear end. Did that, and no problems with that since -- that was around 2004 -- BW42
