I've never been really good at guessing wire gauge, I would like to order some wire to patch up my sending unit. Does anyone know what gauge this should be? I'd hate to go too small and have it not read right.

When I got my truck someone had tried splicing into the sending unit wire, most likely trying to send power to the electric fuel pump that was on the framerail. They used one of those "scotch lock" wire taps and the wire broke last year. I had patched it but it's acting up again so I would like to replace the old corroded wire with the correct color and gauge wire.

I used 18 when I added the rear tank on my 6.9 with no I'll effects. Just dont get that Walmart wire it dries up and literally disappears like the plastic reacts to chemicals our states dump on the roads

For anyone who might want to know, I used 16ga and it appears to be slightly larger than stock. I would guess 18ga is probably what was used from the factory.

I just hate threads that don't get a conclusion lol
