Breaker! Breaker!
Back with a new (to me) bricknose IDI. As I'm working through fixing or modifying a few things, one of the more minor things I really want to fix is the front tank always pegs the dash gauge.
Tanks are switching correctly every time. Rear tank reads fine, front tank always pegged. Rear tank level will flutter and not read correctly if switched from the front tank while driving.
I've crimped in a ground wire jumper where the ground for both fuel level senders tie into each other, with no change. I did try cleaning the contacts on the front sender with a brass brush, but this truck still has the factory muffler and is very much in the way (and weirds me out not being able to hear the exhaust). Contacts on front sender appear very clean. Contacts for the FSV appear clean as well and have dielectric grease packed in. Truck is in really good shape and all the wiring is looking good with no noticable pinches anywhere.
Any ideas what I should be looking for next? If I'm looking at replacing the sender on the hanger, that's not so hard, but won't happen until I get the stacks transferred from the crew cab, due to the muffler being such an obstacle. Both senders in the crew cab function perfectly (parts WILL be donated).
