The fuel filter light seems to be "wanting" to come on when the throttle is crowded. It gets brighter as the RPMs and load on the engine climb. Do i have a short somewhere or is this "fuel filter" sensor related to restriction in the line and it SHOULD come on like it is...brightening and dimming.....

Thanks!

Change out filter first. If you still have a flickering light issue, the switch is starting to go bad. Its a one wire deal, so if the switch grounds out, connection is made, light goes on.

Yes a failing lift pump will do that too. But change the filter first and if still does it put a lift pump on it.

These motors are pretty simple. As a result, start with the simple stuff first. PM items are a good start. No need to get ahead of yourself so fast. a weak lift pump would also show other symptoms too like power fade off at high rpms or leakdown when sitting dormant for a period of time.
