easier gauge upgrades?

You might want to do a little more searching around as to what guages and different ideas on how to mount them, You are only limited by how creative you can be and your budget. I to would like to do away with the retarted plastic dash and put in a full sheet metal dash but that would require a killer amount of time. Do a lot of research and see what you are in for.
Yea ive started doing some research, but there isnt a lot of info around on that sort of thing

Here's a low cost interim solution -

Pull your instrument panel and replace the OEM peanut bulbs with 168's. Same size, same shape, just much brighter. Ford used 161's originally. 2.7watts. The 168's handle 4.9watts. I swapped mine out six years ago and it made a big difference. Now, I can see all my dash after the sun goes down. ;Sweet

I would think 8 or so at the most. Just go n buy 10 n ya will be safe. Can get em for under $10

I called isspro and got a price on a tach gauge and a 6.9/7.3 adapter. everything would be almost $300! thats a bit much for something i don't NEED. that may have to wait till later

light green/ black high beam indicator ( this is high beams inside the cab you can tap into this anywhere in the circut)
light green/ white left turn indicator
white/ light blue right turn indicator

taken out of the wiring list
