having electrical probs with my auto, would like to swap in a manual trans. I have a 94 7.3 IDI with a factory turbo. what trans, year models, transfr cases, etc would work best. i'd like to buy a wrecked or blown up truck and get the trans, transfr case, and clutch asembly out of a donor truck. Also i might can get ahold of a6.9 truck. Would that work? thanks for the info.

i had a 94 with an e4od and i put a 5 speed in it, i bought a 91 parts truck and everything went in great exept the master cylinder for the clutch, the older body styles had a different shaped hole, i just used a file and made the hole work. I dont no how well everything would fit from a 6.9, i'm sure everything would go together just fine, i would want a zf tho, i wouldn't waste my time putting a 4 speed in.

The firewalls changed in '92 with the body style in prep for airbags for the halftons.

Doxeys- I have exactly the truck you need in Memphis. 7.3 4x4 5 speed with a blown engine. It has a $700 dollar new clutch and flywheel assembly with roughly 7k miles on it, it would be the perfect donor truck for you.
