Does the E40d have a vent to atmosphere? If so figuring the unit is submerged (in say a river :sly) would it be safe to assume water would get in? Already figure Id have to drain/fill the diffs but curious if the tranny would be likely to get water in it as well.

I thought that was talked about in a thread the other day, but now I can't find it....
But it definitely has a vent, IIRC.

so would it be likely to get water in the tranny if submerged (and moving slowly)?

I wouldn't doubt the potential for wet feet if we had actually gotten any rain recently (instead just lightning and forest fires :( ) but sounds like I should be good with just changing the diffs :) heres someone elses video of the one of the deeper crossings I plan on hitting (normally I chicken out on this one b/c its deeper) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C1GQTQfFVIM
