On my 93 F350 I am tired of having a defective 6 way problem. The truck is in the shop and they tell me I need a new 6 way. Duh look up my truck on your computer and they will find they replaced it 150 miles ago. I am running #2 in the back tank and a 80/20 wvo mix in the front. As my local trips are short I have not used any wvo in 150 miles since they changed the old one out. As this is the third one replaced in the last year I would like to do away with it and just use 2 electric pumps and a 3 way for the return lines. I am wondering if this makes sense or am I dreaming. I have read that you need 3- 3way valves and still use an electric pump. What am I missing. The engine has less than 3000 miles on it with everthing replaced down to the tranny. Any help will be appreciated.

two 3way valves.
feed from each tank goes to one valve. output goes to electric pump than to engine.
second three way is for returns, and one fuel line to input, output to each tank.

all three ways I've seen has a COM, NO, NC labeled.
Com is always open, NO is normally open (no 12v applied), NC is normally closed (only open with 12v)

if your running wvo I'll look up the mcmaster carr part for the valves I used, I don't know how they'd fair for wmo, but they stood up to 180 degree fuel with no problem.

curbill, another thought.
when I ran WVO I had two seperate filters with check valves in each line. Needed a third 3way valve, but the purge time was down to nil. This way wvo only ran through one filter and diesel only ran through another...
anyway, if you need it I have another filterhead for a 7.3 bottom peice too.

frybrids valves are made for the heat. the cost more but you shouldnt have to replace them.

I assume by "six-way" you are meaning the fuel-tank selector-valve.

After numerous failed electric valves stranding me in busy intersections, on bad hills, and the like, many years ago I installed two MANUAL fuel selector-valves, one for DRAW and one for RETURN, and no problems since.;Sweet

i know people post about failing valves----but im wondering if the grounds to those valves are failing????-the only time i replaced a valve--i cleaned it very clean--to bare metal--then coated that with antisieze--and bolted the new one on. still works to this day---:dunno

Me too. I've been running vegoil through a 6 port Pollak valve for 2.5 years and 25K WVO miles without a single blip. :dunno

It's hard to say what the temp is just before the Pollak but I'm fairly sure it's under 160*F because my heat exchanger is after it. That means I run my rear tank warm but it's always at least B20. I see 180*F just before my fuel pump.

There is no heated wvo going thru this 6way as I have been only running diesel in the back tank. The 6way is all the way back by the back tank and my only heat is over the passenger fender in the form of a Frybid circular heat exchanger. I have not driven the truck over 6 milesw at a time and have not changed over to the front tank. If the heated fuel is screwing up the 6 way on the way back to the rear tank I would be very surprised. I am thinking I mite have a wiring problem but I am waiting for the shop to install the new 6 way under warranty before I say anything about the wiring.

My 6 port is now right before the IP(2 feet of line) and the front tank line which is running most of the time is heated. So I think that I'm pushing this thing to the max, if it fails I will replace it with the hydraulic valves from Frybrid they are 3 port so I would need 2 to accomplish what I am doing with the 6 port.

I would like to have an additional 3 port so that the fuel can return back to the feed instead of back to the tank, so that the tank doesnt get polymerization on the WVO.

I wonder if WMO polymerizes?

The book SVO by Forest Greg talks about polymerization alot. - from the parts that I have read so far. Its a new book.

Any updates by anyone? I'm looking at replacing my nearly new fuel tank selector valve as it seemed sluggish to switch back to diesel today - I was watching my ip return line for purge time for the last time before I re-plumbed it with fuel injector line. Good thing I hadn't or I wouldn't have caught that I was still on veg when shutting down.

In any case I'm considering replacing my stock selector valve with 2 3 port frybrid or omarsales style wvo valves. I was going to move the FSV to the engine bay as well. And potentially add a second filter like a mid sized Racor for veg.

My biggest concern is getting the current dash switch to work as I really already have enough gauges in my cab :) and didn't want to add a second fuel level gauge if I lost my switch.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. I guess I could get some 2" Autometer fuel level gauges and remove the stock one and the oil pressure gauge from the instrument panel and plug'em in there - then I'd run wire from each sender to them.
