That's one of the reasons I jumped on these as quickly as I did. From everything I've been reading, they have a very extensive back ground in industrial and diesel applications as well as antique engine machining. Everyone I've talked to said their work is top notch.

I may give them a call and see if they have records on the heads and what exactly was done to them.

Just gave them a call...

Guy was able to pull up the records of them being rebuilt. They were pressure tested, springs tested, exhaust valve guides replaced, intake guides inspected (were in spec), new exhaust valves, surfaced, and a full valve job.

I asked how many IDIs they get up there and he says they have had 6 or so sets this year already. It sounded like they know what they are doing so hopefully they do.

Doing a bit of reading, they do some really slick stuff.

That sounds good. The heads are common sources of major failure on these IDI's. Most don't loose cam's, cranks, rods, but valve train (at higher mileage) and gasket failures are main issues.

Good luck man.

If you get it wrapped up before summer, run out to the rally in PA. Heck we can convoy together.
