Crazy idea for 6.9 turbo

Please give this idea a chance to simmer in your minds a bit.I've ben thinking for a few months now of wanting to turbo my 6.9 but I don't really want to mess with my exhaust set up too much other than maybe putting dual stacks on it later on a it already has actual dual exhaust. So I got to thinking bout maybe powering the turbo by something other than the exhaust and found some people talking bout joking a turbo compressor to a chainsaw engine and all sorts of stuff and I found an electric turbo that seems like it would actually work but the problem is that is only sustainable for a couple minutes at a time so I figured on making my own. I found a lead blower that produces slightly better sure flow#s and a power inverter to power it. Please give many any good thoughtful opinions on the subject I'd really appreciate it.

No. Nonononononono. It's been talked about and dew have done things like this...but why? You can find used turbo kits cheap enough that will provide more than adequate airflow for more fuel.

wow ..... this even comes up on a diesel site.... no it will not work, it dod not work on a 2.9L ranger engine it will not work on a 6.9L. why not try a pair of belt driven Eaton M-90 super chargers if you don't want to mess with your exhaust.

What type of Cfms does it push? My thing with it is that I don't think will push enough air to produce any boost at all. The only thing I've ever seen that produces enough rpm to make any boost was a starter and it was hooked to both a positive displacement supercharger and another one to a turbo compressor. But still it could only be run for like 20 seconds at a time and required big electric system upgrades. On top of that, there was only one speed that the starter spun. So, as engine rpm raised boost dropped because the unit couldn't keep up cfm-wise. Its a cool idea to think about but not realistic in my opinion. Sorry man. I don't mean to shoot you down. Oh and on top of that you don't want to touch your exhaust but even if you don't wanna touch that, boost still requires modifications to something. In the case of what you want to do, it would be on the intake side. If you don't want to touch your exhaust, maybe try a centrifugal supercharger or if you can weld a positive displacement supercharger. A centrifugal unit wouldn't require a whole lot of fabrication and doesn't seem too hard to bolt on if and make work compared to a positive displacement supercharger. But for overall simplicity, a turbo is your best bet. It is a direct bolt on.

Nice no I'm not 1 of those hippies thank god, damn they irritate me. But I am starting school for mechanical engineering this winter term which is another reason for looking at alternatives. the leaf blower I'm looking at is supposed to move 400 some odd cfm at 240mph but I hadn't ready thought of superchargers, I'll have to look into that. if you want some ideas there was a thread on fullsizebronco where a guy was twin supercharging a 6.9 with M-90's but I don't think he finished it.

I think I like the m90 idea it looks like what I'm wanting, a lil more power but better fuel mileage.

I am doing a supercharger with a turbo blowing into it on my truck. It should be pretty cool. Also Seawalkersee has a supercharger thread in the process right now. What would you want to hit boost-wise?
