cost for barke job parts

did I get screwed?

(4) brake shoes @ 32.50 each=$130
(2) hardware kits @ 14.50 each=$29
(2) drums @ 117.49 each=$234.98
outer lug nuts $25
inner lug nuts $45
hardware to bolt hubs to drums $25
(4) slack adjusters @ 27.50 each=$110

plus some misc. stuff and the bill for just the parts is $750:eek:

good thing I did the labor myself. I don't know the cost of MD stuff, it sounds a little high to me.:mad:

Wow thats cheap and I'am not kidding. You figure the brakes should last you atleast couple years depending on how much you use the gears. If you get a JAKE the brakes would prolly last longer you wouldn't need to use the trucks brakes much.

Well the brakes are done you will have good stopping power now and won't have to worry about it for awhile.

Granted this is a different truck but I just did my steer axle on my 88 IH9300 4x6. Shoes (Rockwell 15x4), S-cam kits, Hardware kits, CR seals, 2 cans brake clean, 1 Qt. gear lube, 1 tube of silicone for hub seal, 2 7/8" socket. Was about $250 plus or minus 10 bucks.

That is not too bad. Cosidering you could have spent close to that and and done it yourself! It sould have been worse.
