I am wanting to clean the engine in my truck. Do I need to cover anything before I spray it. The motor is not real dirty now and I really would like to keep it that way.

BTW : 91 F250 4x4 7.3 w/ ATS turbo

Don't do it warm. Don't want to damage the IP.

I usually just plug the intake, disconnect the batteries, cover the GP controller or at least try not to soak it, spray the engine down with Simple Green, and hose away. Repeat as necessary. Sometimes I'll spot clean with brake cleaner if there's a leak I'm going after. After I'm done, I shop vac the water out of the cavities like the GP galley's in the intake and such with a little 1/4 wand. Dry the "details". Then start it to finish the drying process.
