Not sure if we even have active members up here any more besides me but maybe some one can use these:

Still no body parts for my truck though. I'll even admit to tearing apart a nice one like that 85' near the top but I'll stay patient for now. A few more on the island, but I don't think anyone else is here.

That first rig would be awesome as a summer daily driver. Looks clean and would be mine if I was closer.

Hey Dave,

I'm still lurking around. 'Probably getting out of diesels though, I'm thinking of a Japanese SUV or straight 6 Ford pick-up. I do have a '91 reg cab 2wd F250, 7.3, long box with mint body, that I am going to part out. The E4OD is defunct. 'Wreckin Ball has 1st dibs, but I think he is mainly interested in the Banks Sidewinder.
PM me with the body parts you need, some may fit.

Hey Dave, 'just feel like something different, that I don't have to work on (much). I sold my '88 a couple months ago. I need something more 'family friendly'. I love the old IDI's, but have little 'tinker time' or inclination these days. (that said, I still scan the for sale ads - so who knows..)

I've been using the tempest search engine and all sorts of interesting prospects crop up but in the age of the internet and digital cameras some guys still don't like to post pictures so its hard to say if they are really any good. Lots of them in the $1500 or less category but who knows how much work they would need. IDIs are more forgiving than other newer diesels but they can still be a handful.

The problem with mine is it drives like new and gets great fuel economy but looks like crap. My dad's been pestering me lately that I should get serious about fixing it up instead of letting it go to waste and be seen driving it on job sites. I usually don't care what strangers think but unfortunately this is technically a company vehicle so it should be a little more presentable. I really don't want to fork out for reproduction panels though. The new door I bought might have been rust free, but it fit like **** and had to be bashed to line up right.

I like the diesel Rangers but the thing is that they are so rare that I would anticipate having trouble finding parts.....but I could live with 30-40 mpg though. Especially if I was running WMO or something like that.

I've been able to find everything I need for ours, but if you aren't careful, they can get expensive pretty quick. Although that can be said for our usual IDIs anyway. For a compact truck its got some pretty neat advantages. Aside from the very tight turning circle that OBS rangers are known for, the engine uses a 3 second super glow system and reaches operating temperature much sooner than a 6.9. The make a great daily driver but these engines are also often used in smaller HD box trucks all over asia.

There is even a place in california (I think) that is selling the latest version of the engine as a brand new crate motor. The engine is a little dated for use in consumer passenger cars but its still being deployed in all sorts of on and off road commercial vehicles.
