I would keep the idi. Then again i've never had a psd truck and just got my idi. I think the idi is great, and i don't understand what people mean when they say its underpowered. Has plenty more power than what i need.

if you get the chance to drive or ride in a good psd,do it and youll see.i love the idi but my psd is just plain nuts

In 2003 I went to a PSD rally in my IDI. Ford brought 3 new trucks with them for people to test drive as well as a cut away of the then new 6.0. When a Ford rep asked me if I wanted to take a test drive I told him no. He asked why and I told him if I drove one I would probably want to buy one. Since mine is paid for I will stick with what I have.
That was also the same rally that I had competition for the first time on the dyno for the lowest horsepower. Another guy brought an IDI and I beat him having the lowest HP by 1.5 HP, the prize was a trophy and $200 in cash.

I wish i knew someone with a psd, i'd drive one. They sound awesome. But, if i drove one i would want one like compu doc said. I can't even drive gas vehicles anymore they suck... But, i do love my gas f250! I supposed i could get a psd for about $8k but that would ruin my whole get out of college with no debt plan so i'll stick with my awesome $400 idi.

stick with the cheap truck debt is a slippery slope that can sneak up on you. this is coming from someone who got burned on it, not so much dumb decisions just lifes curveballs can do it sometimes.
a cheap paid for truck that gets you around is saving you a ton in car payments. if the truck is solid make the car payments to yourself fixing things up or upgrading in general. if you cant make a months payment put off that off road bumper till next month. no-one will be coming to re-posess it.

I'm kinda like Jerd, been there done that. And now wish I had done things different.
At 18 yrs old I had a brand new pickup and a big fat payment, I couldn't do any of the cool stuff I wanted to do with the truck since I had the payment.
Then I got married.
I don't need to say anymore other then she isnt my wife anymore. And now I have an 87 IDI
yep a divorce was one of my curve balls, a adoption was another, custody hearings, then there is the random transmission blowout on the wifeys car and a new roof..........i have a fresh disdain for lawyers in general though.
