Changing the bench seat?

Has anyone changed out there bench seat for captains chairs on there 6.9's? What years if any bolt right up? I hate my bench seat. The back isnt adjustable, and the middle is such a waste of space

Yup ...this is doable Bronco seats fit you'll likely have two holes each side to drill to mount them.

Then you get a nice console in there and yer golden!

Almost any year can be made to fit but 80-97 are the best ones....

Would f150 seats of the same year range work? My 94 f150 that i sold had nice seats

YES...

....you'll likely have two holes each side on the floor to drill to mount them....

oh, ok, i thought you just meant broncos and 250's my bad... i wasnt sure if those trucks had wider seats than the F150s... thanks for the help

OOH! thats purdy! Yea getting in the back of my ext cab to put my son in his car seat sucks. I could really use some chairs like that

I got dumb lucky. Scored the ENTIRE interior contents on that supercrew including many engine compartment parts, PCM and other stuff at one of our county auctions for a measly $3.00!!!
ive got about $12.00 into the mod and about 5 hours start to finish on the install. It's a great mod from the ole bench.

For anyone else wanting to upgrade from a bench without having to drill new holes, the 40-20-40 bucket seats that came in the 94?-96 F150s and 94?-97 F250-350 REGULAR cabs are mounted on a single large metal frame that bolts only to the bench seat holes. If you want this option in an ext cab that came with the front bench seat, you can still use this frame. You will need to swap out the seat of sliders from a set of bucket seats from an ext cab or Bronco to allow the seats to slide forward to allow easier access to the back seat. You may have to drill new holes in the frame for the different sliders, but it does still give you the correct mounting points to the floor.

I went the other way and used a set of seats out of an ext cab in my reg cab F150. I did buy a junk set of 40-20-40 seats out of a reg cab just for the one piece frame and correct sliders.
