C6 shift points

Hey yall, on my 89 7.3 NA IDI my 1-2 shift is almost immediately. I mean as soon as I leave the driveway i'm into second shifts around 1000 RPM. I"m not ******* the gas just normal easy dirving. then my 2-3 isn't much better, around 1500. Then it just lugs up to speek. once i'm up to speed it has plenty of power. However if i'm in third and i want to downshift it won't just increased smoke, i need to slow down then hard throttle to down shift, I DONT KNOW. If I put my foot to the floor starting from a stop it shifts highter right around 2200 for each shift 1-2, 2-3. Should i adjust my modulator on the IP? what about the adjustment on the transmission, any help would be appreciated.

makw sure transmission is getting full vacum, and there is also an automatic kick down rod on that runs across the engine i belive you can adjust it, i dont own a c6 truck, i just have seen a few

I think I found the problem with the shifting, the hose leading to the transmission had a small crack in it, I changed the hose now it seems to shift a lot better. As far as the kick down adjustment I havn't messed with that yet. For it to kick down do I turn in or out.

i dont know which way i havent ever owned an automatic diesel
