So after 6 months I finally got to run and drive my truck. Trans is in though I think the converter seal is leaking a little about a dime size drop after sitting for a few hours. Sounded great while it was sitting idling but once I put it in reverse and started to move got a horrible rattling like sound and vibration. Put it in drive and both went away. Drove it down the street everything sounded good until I stopped and both came back. Hit a bump, turn the corner, hit the brakes there again. It had a slight vibration before but I only really noticed it if there was somebody with me. I had just about everything, short of pulling the motor, out. I did notice last week that there was not much room between the cab floor and the transfer case, and yesterday it seemed as the turbo was against the firewall slightly. Couldn't fit my fat fingers between the TC and the cab floor so that's why I'm thinking body mounts, they look a little pancaked under there....... So looks like I'm pulling the interior to get to the bolts??? Never done these so it ought to be a adventure....

The body mount bolts aren't hard to get to. For the front ones, you just remove the kick panel on the sides, right in front of the door. This lets you peel back the carpet and access them. The rear ones are similar; pull the seat forward, peel back carpet as-needed. Very easy and with very little removed.

Macrobb is spot on. Did mine in my crew cab last fall. Hardest part is getting the mounts pulled apart. Do a few searches, there's a few write ups on making a "puller". When I had mine apart I just cut the flare off and they slid back together freely. You'll see what I mean when you get yours out.

I know in my Crew Cab I was able to just tilt the rear seat forward, plenty of room because the bolts are only like 2 inches from the back of the cab.
Will try that first. I know the seat tilts and mybe with the front out I can fit. Ford didn't really plan on people occuping that seat I guess...

Back seats are only good for two things, and extended cab trucks don't have enough room for the fun one
I've always wanted to build a nice toolbox in the rear seat of my Chevy. That's all that will fit back there since us big guys have the front seat all the way back anyway.
