so all the body lifts I've been looking at say that they won't fit if there is a diesel. Is this because there isn't a way to lift the body if it's a diesel, or there is a slight variance in the kit, and it would take slight mods to make it work?

Thats a new one.:dunno I can not see a problem as long as you pay attention to the radiator. I would unbolt it and re attach it after the support is in its new position. Hopefully someone who has done a 2 or 3" body lift will chime in.

Drivers side head will hit the fire wall, a BFH will solve this problem.

Well i remember seeing on here that they don't fit due to clearance issues against the firewall with a 3in kit.

I personally had a 3in body lift installed on my truck before i bought it and did the diesel swap. Infact i feel it made it easier to install. Had to modify the shroud to work with the lower motor.

I installed a 2 inch bodylift and I didn't have to mod anything. However the clearance between the fan and shroud on the bottom is really close (1/4 inch).

I made my lift kit all I did was buy some poly like round stock it was like 50.00 buck the bolts and I cut the round stock to size I had to move the radator but I had the front off all ready it work perfect. I went with 2 inches i wouldnt go more than that personaly but thats me . I fabed up my bumper brackets . I hope this helps

Got a 3" here. Driver side head hit the firewall, a few minutes with a crowbar and its perfect. Had to modify the shroud, and the shifter boots since mine is a manual 4x4 (the worst part of the job really). I'm glad for the room.
