Mine is a 93 IDI CC Non-turbo. Glow plug controller is getting squirrely now - about half the time I have to cycle the ignition key 3 or 4 times before it "kicks in" and does the clickety-click thing. Once I hear that sound, it starts like a champ every time. And this is in 60 degree midwest weather!! So it's time for a new one. Ford Dealer just quoted me 275-ish for a new OEM one. I don't care about the money, but is there a difference?? Should I shop around aftermarket? Thanks for any ideas or experience along these lines. SIncerely, Andy

If you search this subject, there is an easy bypass for the controller, giving you control of how long and when the GP's come on...... What are the specs on your truck? 6.9L? 7.3L?

There is a guy on ebay, out of Oregon i think, sells upgraded controllers and bypasses very reasonably. 'Just do a search on 6.9 or 7.3 Ford Diesel Parts and go from there.
