Another engine vibration issue

For the record, my engine vibration at 2500+ RPM is still there...

But now I have a new one!

At around 1400 rpm I hear kind of a "groaning" vibration. I really only hear it at that rpm, then it goes away. It started yesterday after driving around lost for an hour in Oakland (not somewhere you want to be lost!!)

Is it possible the torque converter or front pump could make this noise? I know I am on borrowed time with my tranny...

Justin, it could be the TC or just a worn u-joint or two. Have a good look at the u-joints on the drive shafts. Also see if there is a lot of play in the rear pinion yoke.

Vibration like that can be hard to track down. Sorry I can't be more help.

Seems like both by rear u-joints are nice and tight, fairly new. I've got to do the ones on the front driveshaft, but I havent used the 4wd yet, so i've got some time on that one.

I thought it might be the torque converter or front pump, but, it only happens at a fairly low rpm range, no matter which gear i'm in... I'm pretty stumped!

Grease one u joint at a time and test drive it... If the vibration goes awa000y you found the problem..
