Air intrusion

I have this 90 model F350 that was parked in 2003. I got it running, but if it sits a couple of days, it will start and run for a second then die. If I crank it over and use a little either it will eventually start. I'm thinking it's getting air in the system. What area's should I check?

the rubber return lines that connect each injector. there are two o-rings behind the plastic cap that are most likely dried out. PM user TYP4 on here for a return line kit. hes great to deal with. Cost is around 35 bucks.

And make sure you arent using glowplugs with the ether. You will have much bigger problems than air intrusion if you do

I converted to manual glow plugs, so there shouldn't be an issue there.

ok but still be careful with that stuff.

There is another area where air can get in, and that is the hardlines that connect to the fuel filter at both end and the injection pump (the low pressure line). under each compression nut there is an "olive". Its basically a 1/4" long piece of rubber fuel line that the nut compresses when tightened. over time they harden and leak. You can get them from the international dealership or I reckon you can just cut a piece of fuel line.

other than that, your fuel filter head has o-rings in it, and the steel lines can rust obviously.
