98 7.3 powerstroke?

i have been told several times that ford did not offer a diesel in 98.
how true is this?
im going to look at this this morning.
kinda curious as to why the price is so low.

Or they're just the "early 99" style, since those were 15* anyway. The nicer stuff didn't come along until the "late 99".

i ended up scoring this for 2 grand.
has a screaming air pump, leaky up pipes, and rotted fuel lines, but she made an hour and a half trip just fine.
supprisingly this thing has some nuts!
needs a tow package, lots of body work, and a few couches instead of rear bench seats
and a set of d-60's!

I believe you can swap in the newer style van disc brake rear end and still keeps the same lug pattern.

i believe this is still 8 on 6.5 right?
not too concerned about the lig pattern, when i do the 4wd conversion, ill be getting new rims.
first things irst tho.
body work and getting the engine and fuel lines in order is what ill be working on next.

Yes, the vans kept the 8x6.5" Lug patter for quite a while after the 99 changeover to 8x170mm on the trucks. Not 100% sure they ever changed the pattern before they killed off the E-Vans... I have heard they have, but have not see info 100% on that..... Also as mentioned, the later vans (99+ I believe) has the rear disk brakes with the e-brake provision just like the trucks.

Good luck with the van. We've had one of each body style 73-91 and 92-14 (85 and 94) E-150's, and they were a great travel vehicle. Logged many a mile in the captains chairs in our vans (They were both "customized" vans, remember them?) The only vehicle I have liked better than a van for travel is my Excursion..... hey, since you are collecting one each of all the larger Fords, maybe you should hunt down an Excursion also.... 8 passenger, and can tow just about anything that I can attach to the hitch......

For those of you that have owned and loved an E-Van over the years.... R.I.P E-Series Vans... one of the biggest mistakes that I think Ford has made..... just like killing the Panther Chassis cars....

this is the first van i have ever owned.
after driving it for 20 minutes, i instantly fell inlove.
this thing is awesome, and at the price i paid, im head over heels.
i was kind of hoping that it was 8 x 170 mm, i have a spare set of aluminum rims.
it does have its fair share of problems.
what i thought was the fuel lines, are actually the rear heater core lines.
rusted like a champ! got new ones that will be here in the morning.
i got super lucky today at DMV. $110 smog and a vin inspection in the morning, and shell be registred from IL to CA.
going to cut a 1/4 panel off a van at a junkyard in the morning, pull a fender, and a door for the tune of $250.
going to try to score some electric window regulators also.
now i just need to score a set of axles for her!!

do you guys think a late 70's divorced NP205 will hold up to this?
i have one i was trying to sell, but if it will hold up behind the powerstroke, ill keep it!

i need to get this thing painted like the A-teams van pronto!
