My first set of studs came from Ken and they were H13 material. they worked great till the second engine I installed them in. I found one laying in my driveway and the other broken one laying on the motor mount. Thats the reason I went with ARP studs for my 7.3.

ARPs are definitely good studs and the 625s have something like 290K tensile strength. I'm sure they could hold whatever a high powered idi can throw at them. I do know that Cummins and even 6.0 Powerstroke guys swear by them for higher power applications. I will probably look into getting some for my 7.3 after I save some money during deployment. I want to see what my idi can hold...

If the deal was for 6.9 or 7.3 id be in like flynn with my 7.3. But i understand tooling is different since the studs are different...

Already got a standard arp 6.9 stud set...

Maybe we should get one going for 7.3 :)

That is just the starting price for tooling for the 6.9, so I would assume it would be a similar deal for the 7.3. I really want those eventually. I am impressed with those studs from what I have read about them on other engines compared to standard ARPs.

I think it's a different alloy that is supposed to be stronger.

Hmm, ok. Don't think it's worth the money myself, but whatever. He doesn't seem to realize that there's way more than just brute stud strength going into head gasket failures.....

wow... a set of arp 2000's will hold to more than an IDI will ever make .. You'll blow a rod before hurting a HG ( unless you just go crazy boost and some how the wrist pin holds) ...
Not to mention the 625's are like 1300 bucks VS 400 for the arp 2000's ... your money , its a waste to get the 625's ..cookoo
