a friend of mine has a 97or 98 tahoe.i forget what year it is.
anyways.we got it stuck in some mud.so he put it in 4WD to try to get out.didnt happen.i had to pull it out with my car carrier.but now when he puts it into reverse it makes a big BANG sound like its locked between to gears or something.when its in drive and you take off its fine till it shifts into 2ND,then it makes a grinding noise.ive been under it and checked the play in the rear axle,thats perfect.the front axle aint stuck half locked/unlocked.the transfer case seems like it is in 2HI.i can turn the front driveshaft with ease and no noise.
