my cousin has a 2000 model chevy with a laundry list of probs and we have tried to figure it out but ive never worked on gasolines especially with the electronics. First off it has a v6, 7 inches of lift, 35x12.5x17, auto, and high gears, so first problem is it is a dog my 7.3 idi diesel would out run it hands down when it was stock so any upgrades that anyone might know of would be great. Second the computer is going crazy. It has a billion different error messages like low coolant, low oil, and low transmission fluid, but they are all good. He drives anything like its a race car so anything to make it tougher. Also the transmission shifts are real hard and the engine will not run the rpms all the way out. All we have done is a tune up. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

www.ls1truck.com has tons of help for you if you're thinking V8. www.lkqcorp.com is a nationwide chain that sells complete 5.3L V8s , for '99-up, for $500, and 6.0L for $800. Get an '01 engine, it's the most compatible, but has many internal improvements over the pre-'01s. If you're wanting to stay V6, there's really no hope of even equalling a stock 5.3L V8.
