a p-pump no question
also a p-pump is better able to handle alternative fuels than the vp-44 pump, something to think about now that fuel prices are going up again.
sorry ive been out of town for a while and havnt had internet.
thanks for the reply.
a link would be helpful. ive seen that guy on ebay but i wont buy one unless he lets me can tell me the model engine he is sending me. with my luck i would end up with a 99' model...not good
thanks...
well ive changed the front 2 shocks and now im just waiting to see if the truck does it again.
im optomistic cause the right shock was pretty worn and the left shock wasnt even functioning.
im hoping thats all it was, time will tell.
i never thought a bad shock could cause that much...
well-i just got under the truck and was looking at the shocks, when i noticed that the shock in question seemed alittle weird. the shock seems to not be straight but alittle off. the middle of the shock has a larger gap on one side compared to the other side. im thinking the shock has puked its...
i doesnt feel like its going into 4x4 but ill check it out.
could it be possible that a bad shock is doing this?
the only trucks i have ever had for an extended period had a IFS front end. so the solid axle dodge is kinda new to me.
2007 5.9cr quad cab 4x4-this thing is driving me insane:mad:
at about 70 -75 mph going down the interstate, if i hit a bump with the left front tire or im turning gently to the right, the truck will start hopping up and down and dang near rattle my teath out. truck has 70,000 miles on it. i...
im lookin to start building another 6.5
but im not gonna do it without getting my hands on a good block. such as the amg optimizer block or a p400 block.
so. if i buy a 6.5 out of a hummer, how will i know if its a optimizer block?
what is the casting numbers of the optimizer?
are all 2001...
im not the sharpest tool in the shed but i'll give it a go.
if your talking about injector pulsing like the new cummins and PS and Dmaxes where the injector opens 3 or so times in one combustion event, then no. the 6.2 and 6.5 has a single opening duration.
however, if you are talking...
well if thats all your gonna run then i dont see a problem with it. but i would make sure to "get on it" every once in a while and burn out the deposites.:D
water injection = a system that sprays a very fine mist of water into the intake (pressure side of turbo). cools boost and keeps things clean. it also gives a small boost in mpg
im not trying to argue but i dont see how you can break a hydrocarbon chain without a chemical reaction ie...
i personaly would be worried about coke with ratios higher then 30%. but to be honest that is just a gut feeling, no evidence to support that statement...
but as far as not wanting to run water injection. how come? not really any bad side effects until you start really dumping in the water...
if its that gummed up then i would worry about your rings being so bad that they scoured your bores-thus creating so much blow by that you can feel the blow by pulses from the oil cap...
ok-im thinkin now that a 4bt might be a better motor.
any ides how much one weighs?
it makes alot more power then the 6.5 and is pretty reliable to boot add a hx35 turbo and some good injectors and your talkin about a pretty good motor.
im thinkin about puttin together a oil burnin boat with a 6.5td, i think it would be a pretty cool project.
the problem is that i dont want to use the stock exhaust setup with the crossover pipe. i would rather go twin turbo and cap the boost off at about 12psi with a air/water intercooler...
im thinkin about puttin together a wmo burnin boat, i think it would be pretty cool to spend all day on the lake and not have to worry about gas prices.
im thinkin that would be a pretty cool project plus it would make takin my son fishin almost a free trip as far as fuel cost is concerned. i...
does it have any codes stored?
how does it idle?
does it have white smoke during idle?
i wonder if this is what happens when the rail pressure return valve goes bad? or whatever the cummins name is for the valve that regulates the rail pressure
i honestly dont have experience with...
in cases like this i believe in cheating.
the best thing to do is find a buddy with a dodge cummins from 03-07 and have him pull into the drive way ,next to the project truck, so you can crawl through the engine compartment and see how everything is run.
makes life ALOT easier
