I've got a 6v53 series motor to replace on a 75 GMC cabover. the 5 speed trany bell housing is to large for new motor. what can I do?- 75GMC

Detroit 6V53 marine motor transmission swap
I bought a 6v53 marine motor to replace in my 1975 GMC cabover. the problem is the new motor won't fit current 5 speed trany. bell housing on trany is to large. what options do I have?- 75GMC
