after 23 years i finally did the same a few months ago and even thou i still have my id i i still drive the 99 all the time at 22mpg well i do like it also the power is real sweet
use mortor mix bad spelling i know but any type of concrete will work put in in the oil asorbent and let it set for a day or so then sweep and it is just like new concrete learned this from old masson man knew his stuff
luck to ya
sounds like ya'll need a good cleaning this happened to mine after a bad case of not cleaning my oil good enough [wvo] and after a good cleaning and running a good add every tank full it stopped i use howes meaner power or diesel kleen double the dose for a tank or so see if it helps
temp coming to the filter maybe coler in winter but still its hot thats the main thing along with no water in the oil this makes a mess i have many stories about that to much in a hurry and end up on the side if the road saying some real harsh words
been running veggie for almost 100000 miles on the 85 she used to smoke oil and used a bunch but after a few 1000 miles of veggie it stoped using oil and runs great just make sure you filter and filter and filter mine goes thru 4 filters before it hits my truck and also is a good 145 durring...
i don't know about the conversion but i have a 97 that i will not get rid of you know unless someone offered some money but it gets 25mpg and is really a good truck i have put a 6 speed behind it but other than normal maint and the simple stuff like off (oil filter filter) shes a good old truck...
yes i have replaced many over the years but a carrier can go with just a small amount of vibration also then this will lead to larger vibes then on the side of the road in the middle of the night well we've all been there
one thing my old dad used to say is the day we quit learning is the day they put you in the ground so always try to learn a few things each and everyday this keeps us here for tomorrow
now lets ask the question of all did you replace the carrier bearing while you had all of this down if not the 20.00 and alittle work will save all this work again for a few thousand miles
Off road fuel
Off road fuel is now the 15ppm with the same dye packet in it as the old 500ppm had in it the reason for the color is it is no taxable other than that no difference than other.
Most all 500ppm was left was absorbed by the railroad or was sold to the smaller mom and pop stations...
also the kick down bracket mounts on the driver side of the throttle it just has a screw that holds in in place the bolt that holds it has a shoulder on it if i remember right
i would do alittle more filtering like down to 10microns this will get most of the junk out i filter mine down to 7 mic this way it is almost clean looking
I got a set from pensicola injection service off ebay only 109.00 for a full set then 30.00 for the return kit not bad for all new injectors with no core charge
In my experience if you disconnect the fss then you better hear a clicking noise if not then the fss is stuck in the open or closed position this is how i check all of mine after i have had them open for repairs
