I know they aren't Beru plugs, that's kind of the point here. Whether or not Beru plugs is what showed up isn't the question, I already know they aren't. That's the kicker, in the add they had Beru engraved just like a zd9, then they got here and had no writing. My guess is they used the zd9 picture in the add, and sent me china crap. Zd29 And the answer is zd9s,lol. So I bought these motor craft zd29s by mistake from Rock Auto. I thought they were 9s. I figured I'd try them anyway. On my way home today, and it was like deja Vu with the 5.4. I couldn't believe it. So I say all this to warn you against 29s. Rock- Farmer Rock

6.9 Sounds Hollow, Clatter/Rattle with Low Oil Level.
Is it the plastic return line caps that leak? If it's a high pressure line leaking, you will absolutely have a knocking sound, being that it's really only running on 7 cylinders at that point. I do have to ask though......why would you start it up knowing there was very little oil, if any. Rock- Farmer Rock

I believe I remember hearing of the IH dealers pressurizing the oil cooler with compressed air. You just have to figure out how much psi, and make all kinds of adapters. There was an old thread on this. Rock- Farmer Rock

I ended up having to daily drive the IDI since last Wednesday since the 5.4 blew another plug:smash:..... I've got plans for that truck though, since I like the truck but not so much the drivetrain. Easiest 4x4 conversion?
Nobody has mentioned the gearing difference. The f super duty will probably have 4.88s or 5.13s. meaning if you swap in an f350 front axle, you will have to regear one of them to match. The f350s had 3.55s,3.73s,4.10s, and sometimes 4.56s. there will be a difference in gearing either way. Rock- Farmer Rock

Didn't do a whole lot today, but mostly because I spent a lot of time swapping doors and adjusting them. Most likely, I'll find out next tank full. I'll just figure out the fuel usage and find out. I'll probably pull the bed off soon anyway for something else, so I'll replace the shower heads with hose at that point. Rock- Farmer Rock

Back in the game folks! She's obviously a little rough in the cosmetics department, but very solid mechanically. Made a 2 hour drive back. It's a 92' NA 7.3 zf5 4x4. I don't want to rush the super duty project, so I figured this should do the job for the meantime. Rock- Farmer Rock

You won't be able to prime it without bleeding it at some point in the system. Best way is to crack the injector lines, and keep at it until you have steady fuel at each individual line. Tighten up, give it throttle, should be good to go. Doesn't take long at all that way. After so many times...- Farmer Rock

Cheap diesel fuel ok?
If there gas is bad, diesel will only be worse, with more consequences. You're taking a huge chance when you already know they're shady. If it's a reputable company, maybe you will be reimbursed for any damages, but if not, it's most likely an umbrella company that can't be touched, then 30...- Farmer Rock

I remember seeing that, doesn't seem like too bad of a deal really. If I had found something like that before I picked up all the drivetrain parts, I might be interested. So I ain't 100% sure if this will work or not, but I picked up a flywheel and clutch for a g56 Cummins. The flywheel obviously fits, but being a dual disc setup, I'm worried it will be too deep for the input shaft. But for $100 I figured it was worth a shot. Rock- Farmer Rock
