The shop I found to do the IP did have good experience with the 7.3 but could not source a decent priced Stanadyne DB2 or give me a decent rate on labour. So that went out the window. I'm at lower elevation now and everything is definitely running better, but not great. Still some white/blue...- AmboIDI

I see didn't put it together that you had a pwm hooked up to that. Pretty neat to have that level of control over the fuel pressure in the electric application. Regrettably I did not pop test the injectors as I was in a bit of a rush to get them in. Everywhere I read says its the way to go...- AmboIDI

I've read that the black holley pump puts out too much pressure and the IP only needs a 4-6psi lift pump not 9-14psi like the black holley puts out. Can anyone else weigh in on the best electric lift pump for these? As for advancing the IP I plan to do a static advance by loosening the IP...- AmboIDI

Right on. I'll definitely be swapping the fuel filter. For the moment I'll give advancing the timing on the IP a go to hopefully get it running better until I'm in the right spot to swap it out. Anybody know of or have a good shop in CO?? :cheers:- AmboIDI

I have not changed the fuel filter since I've owned it. Seems like a logical starting point that certainly cant hurt! I'm not sure its air in the fuel line because that wouldn't cause a smokey unburnt fuel flavor of misfire would it? As for the IP I might give the timing a go unless I can...- AmboIDI

Steel lines to and from the fuel filter but I'm not too sure where the lift pump lives so I don't know if its stock or not. I imagine it is though. Do you know where the lift pump is on the e series idis? The plan is to head south and west actually. Eventually I'll be up in that neck of the...- AmboIDI

I got everything off of Rock Auto. Delphi injectors and beru plugs. Could I check if there is air getting in the fuel system with the Schrader valve that's before the IP?- AmboIDI
