Hood release
Diesel compression gauge finally got here, so I can find out if my '87 F250 6.9 engine is only mildly ruined, or totally ruined. Tried to open the hood, release cable snapped somewhere. Is there a way to open the hood on these things when the cable busts? Help..- briankk

Banks turbo on 7.3
I bought this truck a few weeks ago. It was stored for several years with various problems. Now I'm down to fixing the leaky fuel return system on the intake manifold. Near as I can tell, I have to remove the Banks turbo manifold to get the fuel manifold off, so I can replace all those...- briankk

Anybody have a recommendation for a shop near Sacramento, CA, to bore my 6.9? Should a 6.9 be bored, bored and sleeved, or thrown away?- briankk

Engine oil for 7.3 idi?
Kinda of new to Ford stuff. just bought an old F250 w/7.3 idi engine. From reading chatter here, it seems that the consensus is 15-40 of whatever brand, but my book says straight 30w above 0 degrees, which is most of the time here in CA. Seeking guidance..- briankk

I recently bought an '88 F250, possibly 7.3 and C6. PO was selling because "Something wrong with transmission". Got the truck home on a flatbed, went looking for tranny dipstick, which does not seem to exist on this truck. Started thinking, dipstick and tube fell off, fluid ran out, and tranny...- briankk
