    Five Speed Swap Questions

mine did the same thing. i figure its due to the fact that the cooling system isnt having to take the heat out of the C6 anymore.

    Hard to shift into first

I was under the impression 1st was syncronized in the ZF's. If its grinding while trying to go into first the syncros are shot. If it is like mine it is hard to push it in unless you match rpms. Mine is even tough at idle. Pretty positive they are syncrhonized in first, doesnt feel...

    New IDI Owner Questions

ignition switch is a cheap and easy part to replace if its anything like my '85. should be on top of the column under the dash with a rod that actuates it from the key.

My truck and the 4x4 ZF swap

Yeah still NA. At the top of the grade I was up near the governor in 3rd whereas with the C6 i'd be in 2nd with rpms falling. Couldnt quite pull 4th without pegging the pyro, so i'd just run it at around 3k in 3rd with the EGT's at around 800. I'd say i dropped to 45 at the steepest part...

My truck and the 4x4 ZF swap

Update time... Got a couple hundred miles on it and so far so good. No complaints aside from 2nd gear being a little crunchy if you try to shift it fast. Tows great compared to the old C6. Drug this mess up to the high desert over the weekend and pulled the pass an extra 15mph faster than...

    D60 rotors

Brand new rotors from vato-zone warped in only 2k mi. of easy daily driving and one 200 mi trip with a 8k lb trailer. Kinda pissed about that, but i got what i paid for. Any reccomendations on something that will last and not break the bank? Running a '97 dana 60

    C6 to T19 swap

i picked up the small reinforcement plate, and it was $20-$30. no need to get the large one since your truck has never had a clutch in it before

    C6 to T19 swap

I put the small reinforcement plate in during my swap. Good advice. Its cheap from the ford dealer and you are not going to want to go back under that dash ever again after dealing with the pedal assembly. Also, consider getting an adjustable clutch rod. If you can fabricate, stick a heim...

    C6 to T19 swap

This part really isnt that bad. In my '85, the firewall had centerpunches for the clutch master holes. You'll need a 1.5" holesaw. Hardest part of the swap for me was honestly getting the pedals in and getting the clutch bled.

Moms Crew Cab too DANGEROUS to Drive. Help!

100% agree. Stabilizers are band aids. If everything is right they are un necessary. Toe it out a few turns and drive it. Bet you anything it goes away. This is not by any means the correct fix, but i have done this to get by for a while on a few vehicles that suffered death wobble.

My truck and the 4x4 ZF swap

I calculated the caster. I assumed the leafs to be flat at ride height and nailed the caster using simple trig. Used the spring pads as a reference point with respect to the ball joint pivot axis. Used this reference to set the heights for the shackle and front hanger relative to the ground...

My truck and the 4x4 ZF swap

I've got a block out of a 4x4 F250 for the rear. I think a F350 block would give it a little too much lift in the back- i like a level stance. Plus i'm running gasser springs up front so it sits a little lower anyway. I tried to build it as low as possible. I really wanted (and still do) to...
