I hear that the PDR and Dodgezilla versions of the HX-40 have had oiling mods done to cure the dreaded shaft snapping problems. The HX-40 has the same shaft as the HX-35 as I understand it.
Uh huh....
Sorry whitty.... The OH puter aint worth a shit when you add injectors or a box...
besides - he'd have to come up with a thermometer AND a compass... :moon: :moon:
I've heard both directions on the -40. Some say its great for towing and some dont like it. Rip checked out my turbo and gave it a decent bill of health allthough he did say start saving for a new one. I'm leaning heavily towards a -40 because I think I could come close to 500rwhp with it and...
No doubt about it! I have the utmost respect and admiration for Rip... I guess I'd like to hear someones thoughts on it though.
Didnt Nathan Black get a DZ-40??? How's he liking it??
My truck feels a lot stronger at 5X5 than at 3X5 where I run it 90% of the time (I dont give a hoot about the people behind me!!! :D ) On level 5 in the rain, I can get tire spin at 70mph in 5th gear (Flooring it at freeway speeds produces tire spin (Wet Pavement) at level 5). On level 3...
Looks like my PDR HX-35 is wearing out.... Getting some oil out of the seals and a lot of radial play. At my fueling level it would be prudent to step up to a HX-40 turbo.
PDR??? Or Dodgezilla??? Rip has me talked into a DZ but I'd like to hear someone elses oppinion...
Besides...
One of these day's when my BFG Mud Terrain K/O's wear out (I've already got 60K on them and their about 40%) I'll probably by 16X10 rims with either BFD All Terrains or Mud Terrains but in 315X75X16's... I already have the D25's installed. Nathan came over and gave me a hand... (Thanks again...
I'm not sure that Dodge can get into the ECM's - Cummins can, but I dont think Dodge bothers... But whatever - It's a free country, if'n he wants to break the law let him! (He who casts the first stone....) :D
"476.6RWHP--- 907RWTQ" LOL LOL
Definetly dont post you numbers Nathan.... I can damn near match the HP and easily beat that torque.... for thousands less...
Sorry... If I didnt hit at least 450rwhp I'd be quite dissapointed. I've known trucks to do 450 with DD3's and the identical setup (PDR HX35, Comp, Exhaust) to mine. My injectors fuel more than DD3's.... Looks like I need to dyno the damn thing...
OFE here - and I'm undynoed but I'd expect 450-460 RWHP and it holds tight! (My last dyno was 404 but I changed from DD2's to F1 Mach 2.4's)
Takes a little getting used to, chatters a bit off idle but the chatter goes away if you leave at 1000 RPM. Sometimes thats not and option in the rain...
