just shutting off
a friend has (i think) a 99 f350 diesel and he was telling me that his truck would jut die when he is driving it then he turns the key to restart and it starts fine, and sometimes he said it acts like it wants to shut off then straightens up, and sugestions on what to look for? thanks in advance.- cumminstrk

tach died then came back on?
i was driving this morning when i felt a surge like i pushed a little extra on the throttle, then it did it again i looked at the gauges and all were working except for the tach then it jumped from working to not working and the surges quit after about 5 times but the check engine light came on...- cumminstrk
