Oil leak above the oil filter, rear oil cooler head? what do I need to know before I start taking it apart?

I remember it being pretty simple but very very messy. I bought a drip pan that goes underneath washing machines or water heaters to help catch all the drips and runs.

Oil leak above the oil filter, rear oil cooler head? what do I need to know before I start taking it apart?

Be real gentle with a ratchet strap putting the cooler together. The O-rings can get damaged. Consider re-using the old oil for the leak test. I poured mine thru clean tee shirt material. (Oil is expensive, you can always change it again)

Where is the "low point dimple" on a wheel?

Try breaking down the tire and mounting it 180 degrees off from where it is now. Usually helps with hard to balance wheel tire combos.

So I'm not super familiar with the system is there a speed sensor of sorts on the rear end? And would get confused by the gear swap? I know there's a sensor back there but I thought that was just for the anti-lock brake stuff. I don't know. Does the cruise control still work before and after...

Diagnosing OD Flashing when shifting to 3rd. Brake light circuit?

The engine rpm (tach) sensor is also a common failure point. The sensor usually keeps working but misses so the trans gets an incorrect RPM signal. They're cheap to replace. Something to consider.

Long time viewer, first time poster. I have had several Ford 6.9/7.3 diesels, this is my first GM. I just bought a 6.5 turbo diesel sudurban. After only a few hundred miles of owning it the motor has developed a smoking problem. Blue smoke, oil. It starts fine with no blue smoke if it has...
