sorry its been a while since ive been on here. truck died a few months ago and ive been tinkering with it when i got time. got married last month, had a s*%$ load of overtime and work...
was over at grandpas house last friday killing some time and tryed to get it started. cranked over fine for a while till the starter got warm then didnt want to crank over right. wouldnt start with ether but sounded like it wanted too. guy at work is thinking the timing might be off. and i think...
thanks for the input. there wont be much progress besides tearing it down between now and july 30. and finding all of the parts so that once i have the funds i can just order them.
since the motor needs to be overhauled now i have a few questions. first off, i plan on waiting to buy anything until after my wedding in july. the plans are to rebuild the engine with a turbo, rebuilding a zf5 to put in it, and rebuilding my transfer case while its all torn apart. spend the...
ran low on oil, forgot to check it, got hot and died. it will turn over but turns over hard. im thinking its a bad bearing. any ideas of something less serious it might be. if its the bearings then ill wait till after the wedding and rebuild it.
i almost forgot about the piglet too. 1981 honda twinstar, 200cc, my uncle gave it to me when i was 15, mom wouldnt let me get my license till i was 18 and have put abouy3K local miles on it every summer since, at 80 mpg it get the job done well.
i was just going to build a ss or alum box for mine, need to talk to my supervisor at work and see about using some of our scrap ss, otherwise it will probably be alum.
picked up a few things for it at my uncle's house. any good ideas of where to mount the pump and tank? im going to try to get the tank sandblasted at work in the next couple of days and get it repainted and ready to be mounted on the truck somewhere.
and here is my toolbox. my dad gave it to...
i had my civic before i got the truck, ive only been driving the truck lately because the p/s pump is goin out in the car. but when that gets fixed i drive the truck back and forth to work (6mi round trip) then the car for longer runs. it gets about 38-42 on hwy.
i found a problem this morning, not sure if it was THE problem, but i fixed that and well have to wait and let it sit for a couple hours and try to start it. the return line that goes from the far left injector across to the metal line that runs to the tank was a little tight and got pulled off...
my truck is still a little hard to start, still acts like its got air in the lines, i ordered a new fuel pump and it should be here tomorrow, so will try to get it on either tomorrow or friday depending on what time it comes in. does anyone have any other ideas as to what it could be?
how are the injector return caps supposed to fit? snug so they wont move at all or a little play in them, the only one im having any issues with is the one closest to the fuel filter. all of the rest fit well, this one wants to twist up a little where the return line goes into the filter. they...
they look alot better on there then i thought the would, leave the trucker mirrors on there.
but maybe paint them black to match the rest of the stuff.
yes it is, the po put it in. he had a habbit of burning out the gps to fast so he put in the ether assist. im woking on getting the gps working again when i can get the time to work on it.
ive gotten up to 43 with the honda on interstate, keeping it for the longer trips where i dont need the truck, and ive also got a little honda bike that gets about 80. and all of my driving is within about 20 miles. but hondas cant haul a lot of shit so thats why i got the truck.
