Truck won't start...not turning over, starter not engaging, nothing working

...where are the voltage regulator and fuseable links? Sorry, I know nothing about vehicle when it comes to wiring or electrical. I have all these wires.... And no, that is not a giant rust hole in the fender.

Truck won't start...not turning over, starter not engaging, nothing working

I'm still gonna shoot for the ignition too. But shouldn't you be able to turn the head lights on even if the ignition isn't working? Absolutely nothing is working as of right now, it Doesn't work sometimes, everything is completely dead.

Truck won't start...not turning over, starter not engaging, nothing working

I actually think it's the main ground after looking it over more. The ground connecting to the engine block from the driver's side battery is cracked, rusty, and looks like it's ready to fall off.

jumping a dual battery set up

Dumb question: I have my first diesel truck and it has two batteries. Do I have to do anything special to jump it or can I just connect my ranger battery to one of the two batteries on the diesel?

    IDIs are missed

Over the past 3 weeks I have owned my 6.9 F350, I have some little/annoying problems with it, and now the truck won't start because of a wiring issue. Anyway, I will look for another 6.9 when this one is gone. My firends and their parents keep telling me to save up more money and get a newer...

Truck won't start...not turning over, starter not engaging, nothing working

I jumped in my 1985 F350 diesel this morning and it wouldn't start. When I let it sit in the "on" position (so the annoying buzzing would go away) I noticed the radio wasn't working and none of the dash lights came on. I tried to start it and got nothing. Truck will not turn over, batteries are...

    IDIs are missed

You have changed my mind. ;Sweet I really like 4wd, but If I can't find a nice, rust free 6.9 or 7.3 IDI (in 4wd), I will settle for a 2wd one, it's only gonna be a summer vehicle anyway. I like these things too much to put them through a Michigan winter.

2wd F-series....not 100% sure if I want to get one

I would like to see some pics of you truck owners who have 1980-1997 body styles. Doesn't matter if it's gas or diesel. I want to buy one of these 3 body styles again next spring or summer. I like having 4wd, but honestly I've truly needed it maybe 2 or 3 times. Anyway, I will be getting a truck...

    IDIs are missed

I just sold my 6.9 F350 after owning it for 3 weeks...but needing money and going to college got in it's way. :dunno I will honestly say that I will not miss the smell of the truck. However, in the 3 weeks I've owned it I trust it more than my '98 Ranger with 83k miles (6.9 has 226k). I'm gonna...

    trade idi for psd??

No. It is nice to have the extra power from a PSD, but parts are so much more expensive and there's a lot more that can go wrong...unless you don't care about that, then definitely get it.

Well.....this thread went downhill quicly. Anyway, I'm in Marquette. It's about 2 hours from Houghton. Google says Plover is just under a 5 hour drive to Marquette. However, I noticed you're a decent ways north of Madison and it usually takes me just under 6 hours to get to Madison. But yeah...

    1993 front doors....will they fit 1980-1997?

Will 1993 model year doors fit any f-series truck from 1980-1997? The curve of the front of the doors looks to be the same on all these years....
