    I looks like the headgasket is deformed alittle, not quite like steel on steel. it was probally just to much force when the piston got stuck and broke everything.

    there is a oil capasity decal on the valve cover saying 6.9l but where is the serial numbers?

    the guy my friend got this from said it was a reman or oh not to long before my friend got the truck and that stuff is locktite sleeve retainer, ive never used it but ive seen it

    this cylinder has cracks, gashes, and holes. Its one of the worst i have seen and i didnt even get to kill it. its going to the scrap pile.

    I wanna get the 6.9 running good before i do the 460 bellhousing, i'm not totally sure whats wrong with the 6.9 but the guy i'm getting it from says it dont have many miles on an overhaul but it burnt a valve so he changed one of the heads but that didnt fix it so he thinks its the other head...

    thanks, i think this engine has a 5 speed ih trans on it right now, if i an fit it all in where i wanna put it then i wont do the 460 trans, does anyone know if the ih trans would have a 5th gear overdrive or 1:1?

    ford never made its own diesel till the new 6.7l. to my understanding, ford had a bellhousing plate did international use the same bellhousing plate? maybe i am wrong withthe bellhousing plate thing. this is an international s truck
