BODY WORK ON THE IDI
When i did my boxsides i used a ruller as a strait edge to make sure everything was level. Worked pretty good. even when i thought it felt and looked good i still found low spots with the ruller- Zrock

roll coal without affecting egts?
I agree with the above. I was following a guy the other day and he decided to be a jerk and just floored it and covered us in coal. idea on greasing front hubs
Soaking then in oil is not going to introduce that much diff oil into the system maby a table spoon iff that once you let them drain off a bit... idea on greasing front hubs
just to Napa and find some rubber seals the same size. and use silicone for the lockout to hub seal. You dont want a grease zerk in their as you will over time start getting grease in your lockouts and then they will not work properly... What year VW TDI to buy?
Go with the 1998 - 2004, 05. The old body style. They were a much lighter car and get much better fuel econ. I found them to be a bit peppier when i worked at VW also. their is also far more aftermarket available for the older cars and can easily creat some extra HP and fuel econ. We love our...- Zrock

I hate Scotch Locks!!!
Feel your pain. Every truck i get i spend hours fixing wires that have been hacked... the only way to prpperly do electrical on a veh is to solder them... I good soldering gun with some good thin solder and its almost as fast as crimping them ... I gotta love it when i see people using plumbing...- Zrock

auto or manual?
I would go with the manual... With the low first gear in the trans and transfercase you don't even have to wory about giving it gas to get moving. I line lock would be a benifit as well or a trans brake. Auto's get hot enough trail runnin now tie another veh behind that and it will probably heat...- Zrock

Need tool list for caliper change out... TODAY (3/24)
change the hose while your in thier. Iv seen them colapse internaly several times and look fine from the outside... for the extra few$$ it dosent take any longer to do the job- Zrock
