Frankenwrench, what gear ratio are you running? I'd love to get 20 mpg or even high teens!

    DB2 Tuning Guide

Thanks for those numbers Wes! To tell you guys what I’m doing.. a couple weeks ago I was able to get this truck out on the road (93 f350 dump truck with a late 86 6.9 n/a). It had a couple issues. Under load it smoked white and was low on power. It also acted like the pump stuck at full advance...

    DB2 Tuning Guide

Wes, I have the adapter to measure transfer pump pressure. Would you be able to give me a quick rundown of what I should be seeing for pressure and the limits of which to not go above?

    OBS cruise control quit

I noticed on my 93 crewcab that it still had the original cruise release brake switch. I wanted to get it replaced before something happened even though it was functioning correctly. I bought this kit that consisted of a jumper and new switch. Motorcraft SW6350 Brake Repair Kit...

New Products from Classic Diesel Designs July 2019- The Ultimate IDI Turbo and Intake Manifolds

Thewespaul, what is the a/r ratio of the factory exhaust housing? Does boring the housing for the bigger exhaust wheel change the a/r ratio?

    CDD DB4 Pump Build

Wes, I enjoy hearing about all your findings with these pumps. Most guys aren’t as open as you are and there just isn’t much detailed information out there. Keep up the good work! I may be contacting you sometime in the future to checkout my pump.. I have a hard time believing it’s putting out...

94 turbo flywheel with PSD 13" clutch?

Clutch worked out great. I probably only have about 500 miles on it but so far I have no issues. Was definitely a cheaper way to go for me as I didn’t have any machining costs. I think I have a total of $260 into the flywheel and clutch kit. I also have a truck with a south bend setup in it so...

    Leaking valve cover gasket

A little bit of spray trim adhesive works well to hold the gasket in place.

    Part # for air filter

The 6.4 filter setup might work good on the factory turbo trucks. Great idea! Awesome filtration and more than enough flow. Who's gonna be the first to try it??

    N/A vs IDIT flywheel

This engine that I swapped in I was told was a Ford reman. Idk that I believe that but it does appear to be a reman engine. It has a brass tag riveted over the pad where the serial number is. So as far as internals go my guess is as good as any ones. I did do some experimenting the other day...

    Clutch problem

LUKs quality going down the drain too? I remember reading a post by south bend saying that the 13" PSD clutch disks have a stronger center and dampening setup. I know going that route really opens up the options.

    Clutch problem

Redrill your flywheel and run a PSD clutch.

    Banks pyrometer gauge issues

Ok, if disconnecting the t/c wire makes it go to 0 that kinda rules out the gauge in my opinion. I have seen t/c’s that have failed internally fail high.

    Banks pyrometer gauge issues

The gauge has power going to it? My banks pyro just has the + and - from the thermocouple. But it may be an older version. Either way it sounds like the gauge is bad. If you had an open in the thermocouple wiring it would go to zero and if the thermocouple wiring was shorted together it would...

    N/A vs IDIT flywheel

Wondering if anyone here has had any experience with a n/a engine that has had a turbo flywheel installed on it by mistake. How bad is the balance off? I seem to have vibration above 2500 rpm that I just thought was normal until I bought my crewcab. Its nice and smooth all the way up to...

    Low boost

Video isn't working for me but if your fuel pressure is fluctuating at idle I'd say you have an issue with the lift pump. Maybe a piece of junk from your rear tank got into the inlet or outlet check valves and is holding it open. I would get some 1/8" plastic line and some fittings so that you...

94 turbo flywheel with PSD 13" clutch?

Hey guys, digging up an older thread here again that I found last summer. Well we finally got around to this project. I started with a new LUK IDIT single mass flywheel and a new LUK 13" clutch set for a PSD. I had my dad redrill the flywheel to accept the PSD clutch, everything went smoothly...

    Which Moose pump?

Sounds like you could benefit form more fuel if you are only hitting 1050 deg F. But not having to keep a close eye on the pyro would be nice. I had my timing set at 9.5* and then set it down to 6.5* just to try it. I like the way it ran at 9.5 better so I will be setting it back up. Probably...

    Shake down cruise

I bet with a little larger more efficient turbo you could be close to 300 hp. Are you intercooled? I'm guessing your exhaust manifold pressure is pretty high with that setup.
