truck won't warm up.........
heater/defroster ............ work fine. Radiator feels hot after warming up. I'll head to IH and get the t-stat and try that. Thanks to alll, Dave- dave85

finally put on a new mechanical temp gauge because I thought the other was bad. My truck won't go above 100 degrees. 85 6.9. 371k miles- dave85

Have an 85 with tilt steering. Truck starts intermittenly with steering wheel in different tilt positions, not consistent and then dies with steering wheel in different tilt positions, not consistent. switch or what? Thanks, Dave- dave85

lost 3rd and 4th....................

Leaking Headgasket
18 hrs???.......... "your mileage may vary" "professional driver on closed course" It can be done and actually Mel wrote the definitive article. But, $400 won't do it and 18 hrs is optimistic for first timer.(Ask me how I know) Dave- dave85

Three legged dog..........
well, finally the rear left wheel cylinder just gave way completely. don't have the time/place to repair, so I blocked off the brake line to that wheel. Been about 9 months since I had to work on my truck, guess I'm due. Dave- dave85

Oil pan gasket. use or not?
Yeah......... I've got a couple of short business trips coming up. My plan(and I do have one) is to jack it up and clean it off, put the RTV on and let it cure for 3 days. Then bolt it back when I return. Dave- dave85

Happier than I was.....
Undersand....... this is true on the letter and # combinations. Mine shows 39 on the door. I have since confirmed it is a limited slip. All I can say is, they put in the wrong axle or code. However, I am thrilled. mileage still sucks, my future steps are to; a. remove ladder rack...- dave85

A couple questions.... Are the rims 14.5? Is the flat bed above the wheels, or down below with fenders? How is it tagged? I may work a 3-way trade with towcat, turbo for trailer for GV. can you send me a coupla pics? Dave- dave85

Santa gave...... me the limited slip. LOL 39 is an OPEN differential, but my truck(87) has some kind of positive diff. I just haven't had time to work on the mileage. It's gotta be timing, IP or something. My old 85 get 17 plus. dave- dave85

mieage still has me discouraged, BUT !!!!!!!! My truck has axle code 39, open 3:55, right? Yesterday, in the mud, i goosed it a little and the rear end went SIDEWAYS. So, I got to safe, level mud, gooosed it again, same thing. got out and checked. Both wheels had spun! Soooooo, I got...- dave85
