I'm surprised you can do almost 75mph with 12000lbs behind you.

    Finally bought one!

That's the nice thing about these trucks. When I first got mine I was expecting maybe 10-12 mpgs, and was quite surprise to find out I was averaging 15-18mpgs.

    Brake Job Done

I need to do my rear brakes also. The parking brake doesn't hold and it don't feel like the rear brakes are that effective in general. Several years ago after I bought my truck, I took it to Pepboys to get the rear brakes done. Bad mistake. After they did the brakes, the parking brake never held...

    Finally bought one!

Was your tank below 1/4 tank? If so, that could easily be your issue. To check if it's a fuel issue, just take off the fuel filter to check if it's full of full, if not, you know it's a fuel supply issue. An easy way to determine if it's actually getting fuel, is have someone crank the engine...

Is there an easy fix for door rattle

Since I got my truck, both doors will rattle while I'm driving, almost as if they didn't get shut all the way. It's been really bugging me lately and I was wondering if anyone has encountered such a problem and was able to fix it?

    Valve cover washers

Sure, if you can find any that would be great, if not, I think I will manage to come up with something. It sounds like as long as it's similar it should do the job, and that's the main thing I was worried about.

    Valve cover washers

Does anyone know where I can find the triangular shaped valve cover washers? I lost one of them, so now I need to find a replacement.

    Got to brag a bit...

I can easily hold 65mph unloaded going up Cajon, never pulled anything up it though. Nice thing about having a turbo is it'll barely make any smoke going up the hill.

    My new water seperator

Thanks for the feedback, and you're welcome, I'm glad to share it. That was actually the reason I made the point to share it, because I haven't seen anyone install this setup before. I know that water separators aren't particularly interesting, but if someone needs a low cost water separator it...

    Great compressor deal

Thanks for sharing this with us. Getting the A/C fixed is one of those things that I have been thinking about getting done for awhile, but I have yet to talk myself into it, probably mainly because I had no idea what to expect price-wise. $270 isn't bad at all for the stuff you got.

    My new water seperator

The filters run ~$20. The one drawback is there are only a handful of places that sell these online, unlike Racor products or the Wix/Napa filters.

    My new water seperator

Just thought I would share my new water separator setup. I installed this last Saturday and it has been working great so far. Basically, my old Racor water separator needed to be replaced, mainly because some of the plastic parts on the unit had deteriorated and thus I had air seeping in...

do i need to wait for the light to go out?

I've always made a point to wait for the light to go out, even if it's 100 degrees out. I believe that my truck still has the original GPs, since the PO's maintenance log didn't indicate that they have ever been replaced. The truck fires right up when it's cold out. While I can't attribute the...

    Turbo vs Non Turbo MPG

I really think it makes no difference. I get the similar mpg to what everyone else gets 15-18 highway and 10-12 city, it seems like those number are about the same for most people, whether turbo or non-turbo.

    Ford service manuals

I have the '86 factory service manual, it comes in 3 volumes and it has a lot of useful info. It covers all the F series F150-350, so much more than just our trucks. The most useful part of the service manual in regards to our trucks is the diesel engine supplement that was mentioned. In my...

Alcoa wheels with hub covers and Sterling 10.25

I was wondering if the hub covers that are sold with a set of Alcoa wheels will fit with the large hubs that sterling 10.25 axle has? Just was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this? I've been looking to replace the ugly steel wheels for quite some time.

    Fuel tank vent hose

I wasn't too worried about it, I just thought to ask about it while we were on the subject. Your write up on the tank removal was very helpful btw, thanks for doing that.
