26F. I had 15w40 rotella in it. it was all the way warmed up, that means that it was running for at least 15 minutes. I don't think that a motor can run that long without oil pressure. It had to have snapped it some time after it was kinda warm.
I was letting my truck warm up this morning. When I went out to get in it, it was shut off. I started it back up and it makes bad noises. No oil pressure. I checked the oil and it was full, just changed it 300 miles ago with rotella. Is this a common problem? It always made good oil pressure, 25...
Good point about the back roads. See the problem is that I'm concerned about high egt's, I've heard that on 100%, egt's are alot higher. I'd hate to get to the top of Jelico with a burnt down truck, you know?
This weekend I'm going down to Tenn. to get a 5th wheel and bring it back home. I plan to do this all on WMO. It's a 35ft, 10k pound trailer. Pulling the mountians on 75 makes me nervious with that much weight and no turbo, so I was thinking about bypassing the interstate with state routes...
Sorry, joined the thread late. I've been running 100% for 6 months and thousands of miles, but this morning something strange happened. I ran my oil tank pretty low (not out of fuel) and put about 2 gallons of new oil in the tank. On my way to work I switched to the rear tank. The truck fell...
Here's my setup, just a 55 gal drum, a hand pump, and a filter setup from tractor supply with a water block. Total cost-about $45, Telling your friends you drive for free-priceless....
I just thought about something. I bought the truck from my grandpa who used it to tour the country with a 5th wheel. When he was out west, he had running issues and took it to a shop. The shop turned the pump down for the elevation he was at. I've always attributed its high fuel mileage to this...
Ok, got some pictures of 3 of my injectors. I've been running 100% WMO for the past 2 months and 2500 miles. The past tank ran through it was about 80% trans fluid though. If the injectors are this clean, does that indicate that the cylinder/valve seat will also be the same?
Oh yea, these are...
Has anybody thought about what the carbon is doing to the valves? I've seen gassers that burned oil pretty bad have valve issues at work. Has anyone ever experienced this with a diesel? I would think that the valve springs on our trucks is higher than a gasser, will it compensate?
Holy Crap! Scary stuff. I'll pull a couple of injectors at work in the morning and let you guys know what I find. I've been running 100% for the last 2K and after reading this thread, it makes me concerned because I'm seeing more smoke than normal.
Is it because it will rust it? Water has the same compressablity as diesel fuel, none. How does it hurt the pump? Good call on the filter towcat, does that filter have a way to drain the water out?
I was working on my truck today and noticed that the water seperator was bypassed. I've heard that they can leak air into the system, maybe thats why the previous owner did it. My question is, why would a little water in the fuel hurt a diesel? There is no seperator on a gas car, they just burn...
thats a good point about the switching tanks. Mine got kinda hard to start until I ran my "diesel" tank out and filled it back up. That also made me think about what the WMO is doing to the glow plugs. Do you think that the extra carbon in the fuel might be building up on the plugs? Would that...
Hey, I just thought about something. Does anyone that runs WMO have a pryo on their truck? I'm wondering if theres any issues with EGT's. Definatly while towing.
