Friends new IDI, few questions on 'er.

Buddy got a smokin' deal on a '94 one ton crew 4x4 that needs just a little help. Factory turbo'd motor that runs strong, E4OD that shifts great, and other than there's a possible hub problem up front, no problems in the driveline. We are pretty sure someone loved this truck in the past...

    drove a 6 speed

Driven a few six speed 7.3Ls and I would trade for one in a minute over an auto. That one had somethin' wrong with it. Six speed rocks the slushbox in a 6.4L as well. Adrianspeeder

Dang, I don't know for once... Hard start

Naa, that was above the HVAC box which was pinnin' it down, and the auto tranny dipstick curved over top not lettin' it move up. Even swung 90deg it was then hittin the turbo. Startup vid... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yM-3hrsDwd8 Adrianspeeder

Dang, I don't know for once... Hard start

Well that turned out to be a pain. Couldn't get the tranny dipstick loose to get enough clearance to pull off the passenger side valve cover. Ended up just only changin three out of the four bad ones on that side. Brandon did the drivers side where two were completely dead, one was halfway...

Dang, I don't know for once... Hard start

Aight, new ordered relay, new batteries, new cables, new plug on the block heater, and no start when cold and unplugged. Pulled the connectors to the valve cover harness on the passenger side and had open continuity to every pin. Wasn't sure which were for the glow plugs so checked em all...

    '93 Power Window Wiring

That will work, or pop off door panel and unconnect the two wire connector to the motor. Yellow to positive and red to ground will go down if I remember right. But easy to reverse that if needed.

    i fought the Wal & I won....

Really? I've bought easily over 20 of those 1000amp everstarts from wally world for use in the fleet and only had two ever fail before three years. And they traded for me save the 5or so bucks the price has gone up. Also after I left my lights on down at Sheppard AFB, I took the dead battery...

Never bothered to research troubleshootin' 7.3L's because mine's never had a problem. (Just wish I had it down here on base -cuss) Anyway, borrowin' a friends '95 250 with 220k hard miles, and this mornin' at only 50deg thing wouldn't fire off. But it made one hellovea white smoke show to...

    VSS help

Mid '80s to '91 use the diff mount sensor for ABS only, and the tranny mount sensor/cable for CC and the E4OD shift strategy. '92-'96 use only the diff mount sensor for all three things. Adrianspeeder

Large voltage drop when using blower motor: Time to replace motor?

No, only need one relay. Pretty sure I wrote this up already on here with the diagram. I'll look for it after work. For the 80-86... Pull power from the heater select switch to pin 86 of a SPST relay, then connect pin 85 to ground. Run a 12g from the battery through a 20amp fuse...
