    Allison 6 speed transmision?

I sent the Allison boys an email 2 days ago. No answer. IF I buy a new(er) truck, it will probably be running a 10 speed trans and what not. I figure that Allison will give me the two missing gears that I am in search of. Bottom of the truck already has enough going on with changing over to...

    Allison 6 speed transmision?

After the wife stops screaming about it, after I tell her, I will be in. The '94 7.3 idi Turbo crewcab dually with 4.10 axle gears has been needing two more gears for some time now. That might help me catch that Duramaxx diesel I was chasing a few weeks ago. Then again, probably not. I was...

    Bullet glow plug ends?

That's too easy. There has to be a harder way!!! Thank you! I will just add that to my list today.

    Bullet glow plug ends?

Okay. 7.3 idi turbo and the blue bullet connectors keep sliding off. Any high speed, Rooty Kazokie, Super Dooper, better connectors other than the blue bullets? Or just squish them down and force them on?

Gauge Placement on the post . . . Opinions needed

That's slick! I have yet to unbox the pyro and the lead length I suspect might be an issue. I am outside playing with other problems and she even has me installing an A/C unit today. Yes dear.

Gauge Placement on the post . . . Opinions needed

So... I took the 7.3 idi turbo crewcab dually over the mountain at warp speed and it failed on the uphill. I kinda expected it to as I was pushing it pretty hard from the git go. A trip to the junk yard to pick up a rubber air dam to stuff from the bottom of the radiator to the bottom of the...

"Engine Over Heat" light actually works, uh. . . oops?

Howdy and thank you for the replys. No, I didn't hear the "Jet engine" and I was suspect of the fan clutch at that time. I have a water temp sensor for the gauge mounted on top of the water pump. I just mis-placed my round tuit on mounting the 4 gauge pod on the pillar post. I will get the...

"Engine Over Heat" light actually works, uh. . . oops?

So I got the slide in 2007 9.5 foot Lance camper slid into the back end of the '94 idi turbo crewcab dually and took off for a camp site on the far side of the mountain. Elevation about 4,000 foot. Ran the truck fairly hard for about an hour before the accent. Oops? She was...

Give your truck a bold look with new Steelcraft Elevation Series Bumper

Cool beans. The wife saw one of those three days ago and asked me what it was. I told her it was a brush guard and her response was, 'It's ugly." I seem to remember a TV commercial a few years, "Don't you buy no UGLY truck." Other than that it's a cheby part. This here be a ford form.

E4OD no forward gears. Gainesville Tx

You could have done a google search on E40D rebuild and found a few rebuilders that would do the job for 2 grand including shipping cost. Problem is still the installation. The biggest upgrade might be the '95 front pump, added shims and frictions in the clutches, converter and tugger kit along...

    Cruise control dosent work

My fix was too easy. I went through and started looking at voltages. Then I removed and cleaned/greased all grounds. behind kick panels and under hood front and rear as well as the end of the bed. Errant voltages went away and cruise came back to working.

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

My wife drove mine today, and someone waited by the truck outside the store to ask if she wanted to sell it. Unfortunately for him, we only buy trucks here. I seem to have the same problem with old tractors. . . .

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

3 cameras with the monitor is nice, very nice, but the wireless on the back of the camper is still a need for me. I had thought about that and it might work very nicely for a lot of people.

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

Oh! You mean the wife..... My wife has only dinged three or four vehicles backing up. She does not desire the camera. I desire she not drive the truck in reverse.

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

Yeah baby! I had to give it a thought or two and the wireless signal, especially with a camper would work out quite well. Looks like the only thing i need to do is investigate the final price with two cameras, How about a third to mount on the back of the cab when backing the truck up under the...

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

Just not really impressed with wiping out a section of dash for it. Impressive enough and works with a truck it was designed to go into in the first place. The mirror camera option gives an optional camera that could be mounted on the camper. Mirror with or without the camper on the truck. That...

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

That might be what i am after. The dash mount is nice but *might* limit potential future changes A wireless camera off the mirror should be easy enough to change out. I liked the reviews of how wonderful it is. Now to find a few reviews that mentions limitations and problems encountered. Then I...

    Fuel return lines modification

I have the-- '86 F250 460 3.79 rear gears and a decent turning radius. It has the Warn 12K winch on the front and the extendable rear bumper. '87 F250 6.9 4X4 diesel, Supercab peeling clear coat paint job. '94 idi Turbo 7.3 crewcab Dually land Barge. 12 tractors mostly of the...

    Fuel return lines modification

Considering what has been expended on this toy in the past year including the purchase price, I am about 25% of a new truck. That new truck being the big V-8, 10 speed trans, crewcab, dually, 8 foot bed. 4X4. The flip side is this truck might pull 15K. That new truck is rated for 30K. I am in...

    Fuel return lines modification

Recently I ran into a bad injector on my 7.3 idi Turbo. The 3 way plastic fitting does not come in the typical line kit. However, it is possible to substitute a brass fitting from NAPA and install that in line between two injectors to connect to the other rail. That in turn eliminates the need...

Things that go bump // Back up camera recommendation ??

Backing up a '94 idi crewcab dually is fun. I have not dinged the rear bumper, YET. I have stopped a few too many times 10 feet away only to get out of the cab and say nasty things. So! What recommendations do you have? I have seen the camera that is part of the rear view mirror. Not sure i...

Defrost only, no vents or floor

Thank you one and all for the responses. I finally got to the dash panel removal, easy enough, removed the vacuum connector and found no signal. I went back out to the manifold connector and found a very small split on the side of the hose connector at the manifold. I repaired that and got a...

Defrost only, no vents or floor

The main line that feeds those two is the one I repaired. Later on I will pull the dash controls and have a look. I expect an easy fix, even if needing to replace the switch. Thank you!

Defrost only, no vents or floor

That's the first thing I checked, I was surprised that the line showed no damage but was still plugged, so it got replaced. I then had vacuum going to the dash. Might be getting lost behind the dash, but it is going to the firewall.
