last shot with this truck, OIL STILL IN COOLANT

I disagree that a head gasket could be ruled out. Depending on the gasket installed, there could be rubber grommets around the oil and coolant passages which are not that far away from each other. It's not inconceivable that one of those could tear, resulting in a sort of one way valve that...

    Fuel System Air Leak

Conventional wisdom, is that if you have any years on your return lines that you just install a new return line kit. Once you start fooling with the existing ones, the leaks will only get worse and be more numerous. You can put pieces of clear vinyl tubing in temporarily to locate the source...

Weird issue with timing my bull moose

Hmm... sorry to see this is still an issue for you. I remember when you first called about it, and then we spoke again and you said it was solved, and the problem was with the meter? Anyway, the thing is this, and I'm not in any way saying your not seeing what your seeing, BUT.... it is...

IP advice from those who know...

Thanks for the kind words guys. Just an FYI, I have been sick since Sunday with a fever and sore throat. Didn't go to the doc until Wednesday, and found out I had Strep throat. So now I'm on Penicillin, but I haven't been to work all week, and today was the first time I've felt like doing...

Electric Lift Pump (Holley?) correct part?

I'm surprised none of you guys have suggested the Carter P4070. Equivelent to the Holley Red, and less expensive. I've been running one under the Moosestang for 6 years or more with no issues. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/crt-p4070?seid=srese1&gclid=CNLC5vuogsQCFU8Q7AodCmQAqw

    Quick turbo question

We do sell rebuild kits, but we do also warn customers that 9 out of every 10 do it yourself jobs seem to fail. This is just statistical observation from 28 years of watching people try. Usually when they do come back with the turbo, it is in a basket, and there is little left for us to be...

stanadyne DB4 vs modified DB2|||DB4 parts into a DB2? Marine pumps?

The problem that you are going to run into, is that most DB4 pumps are 6 cylinders. A stock DB2 cam ring will not work with a 4 roller rotor. I understand and appreciate your desire to do it yourself, but the reality is this. Without the calibration bench, you will never be able to get that...

Return line questions? Help im lost.

Our advanced return line kits include extra plastic T's and clamps for more routing options. We have them in our ebay store for those of you who hate personal contact. LOL http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ford-IH-6-9L-7-3L-idi-injector-installation-return-line-kit-7mm-1-4-w-Extras-/281602555632

    Extra power, then died?

Dont' mess with your injector lines, unless its too late! No need to bleed the lines, as the pump will not pump air without fuel to push it. Just get fuel to the pump and it will start again. Cracking the lines will probably just let more air in, then out.

    idi vs psd question

I have several landscaping customers with IDI powered trucks and they love them for their affordability and durability. I've come to have great respect for the 7.3L PSD since owning one, but they still have a few Achilles heels which will leave you wishing you had an IDI. Injector cups most...

GP light: On once this morning, that's it... Need her today. Not the time!

The red wire w/green stripe is what powers your High Idle and GPC. If that wire was dead, then... yeah. Unpredictable results. "Relay" is in quotes, because to me, it's not a relay but everybody calls it one. Definitions between them vary and there is a lot of confusion about it. But...

    TP-38 vs the GTP-38 pedistals

If your goal is to have bellowed up pipes on an early PSD, we carry them here at Conestoga Diesel Injection, and you wouldn't need to swap turbos. But what you are trying to do has been done by at least one of my customers, as he wanted to run the Garrett Powermax turbo we sell for the 99 and...

    Another GP question.

If you tried to measure the resistance of that thing, it would show zero. It works a little bit like the filament in a light bulb. The resistance is zero without a load, but increases with current. The voltage drop across the strip is what the controller looks at to determine glow plug heat...

    oil leak

Make sure your CDR and/or valley pan grommet are sealing well. Seal off your air intake. The rest can get wet. Just do it on a cold engine.

Injection pump fuel feed line alternative

I don't like charging that much, but the darn hose is REAL expensive and worth the money. They all look the same on the outside, but this stuff is much higher quality than your going to get elsewhere.

GP light: On once this morning, that's it... Need her today. Not the time!

So if the plugs check good (the test light must glow brightly! Not dimly.) then their could be a broken wire in the harness. I doubt you fill find this to be the case however. Best to focus on what we know, versus what we fear. As for the glow plug "relay", an important point to make. All...

    1990's f250 stepside short bed ?

The Night Moose was a gasser stepside F-150. Drill one hole, and drop an IDI in it, and your done. :) Those 8 lugs are only needed to make it look pretty.

    7.3 idi cold start

Keep in mind that often pressure is not the issue, but volume is. Pressure will drop when volume decreases, so having a way to monitor it when the truck is under load is important.
