    6.9 zf5 swap

So true. Think a year ago last Oct I replaced the Clutch assy with a Luc. I had a spare FW, so took it down and had it resurfaced, so I had every thing for the R&R. Get the old Clutch assy/FW removed from the truck , and notice there is a difference when I set the new Disk/PP on the FW. I went...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Yesterday afternoon installed the Blower resistor. Was dang cold, been having snow off and on, but nothing sticking for long. Wind blowing, finally dug out the HF Heat gun, set it up to blow heat on my Hands, getting where I couldn`t feel my fingers or the screws. used an 8mm Socket, 1/4"...

    T18 / T19 Rear Wheel Drive leaking?

I agree, you probably still have air in the system. What OD do you have with the T-19? A Gear vendor? The T-19 is a tough transmission, have 363K miles on mine. It is synchored in all 4 gears. The T-18 I believe has the granny 1st gear, none synchro. Goat

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

Maybe the angle of the picture, looks like a lot of weight going to the front axle by the length of the bed. Maybe one of the helper axles like the big truck have you can lower down. I know they don`t make them for these smaller trucks, but I can day dream.... I have the Firestone Air bags on...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Monday while using my Kioti CK-30 Tractor, the R/R tire goes flat. Limp over to the shop figure out how/where to jack this thing up. Used my 20ton Bottle Jack, raising the one side, notice the other tire also came up off the ground. Maybe because the Scraper box was sitting on the ground. Place...

Elko? I would be too tired by the time I got there, that`s on the east side of the State. Iam south of Carson City. There is the Bunny Ranch in Dayton, just east of Carson City on Hwy 50. and a few others. I think one is the Moon Lite Ranch. Never been to one, and sure they don`t look as good as...

    Effect of timing adjustment?

You don`t always need to purchase a new return line kit. Most times the caps can be reused. Look up McMaster-Carr web site, and you can purchase the Viton "O" Rings in bags of 50 for something like $10 +. Size 111 . Then buy the return Hose at the auto supply and cut it to length. 6.9 are 3/16"...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Week and half ago noticed the Blower didn`t come on low speed when sliding the slider thingy over for heat on floor, mix, etc.... Then Low and medium didn`t work till I hit High. Got to thinking maybe the Blower resistor, then reading Dbet94IDI Post up above, confirmed it. Ordered 2 from Taska...

I bought my replacement carpet through Rock Auto. Fitment wasn`t too bad. Hardest part was cutting the hole for the T-19 shifter. What ever insulation on the back side was a bear to cut through. I have the P O R N O red interior, now with the new carpet, newly painted Door Panels and new Volure...

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

There are a lot of YT Video`s on how to push the connectors into the plastic line. I went through this heating it in hot water etc... maybe I didn`t get it hot enough. There are tools made to push them together, and DIY tools guys made. I do a bit of searching...

Trailered home a 1989 F350 dump truck that looks great on the outside, but the 7.3 IDI is something else

Iam thinking the one your truck is an after market ******. The Plug was changed to the round pin one. Also looks like you have rubber hoses connecting to the FSV. originally the lines were plastic, with the push on connectors with the push down lock piece. They spliced in rubber hose to the...

    Turn Signal Cam... ugh!

The Cam cancels it back to neutral after a right or left turn right? Mine doesn`t, but I have the Turn Signal reminder moderator, my Wife. Your Turn Signal is still on. I can`t hear it or see the dim lights, plus the steering wheel is in the way of the lights. PNP is another option, lots of old...

    Squealing Noise Until Operating Temp

I just reread through this thread again. My first thought was throw Out Bearing in the Clutch. Especially when you mentioned it started in 2 and then 3rd gear. I went through this, and had 2 bearings do this, but was more a churping than a squeel. Goat

    Remote Fuel Filter Recommendation?

Iam using the Racor 500FG and using a 2 micron Filter. They also come in 10 a 30 micron. I have it mounted over there the original water filter was mounted from the factory. I don`t have Cruise Control, so it is actually mounted on a plate bolted to the 2 holes in the fender. They are pricy, and...

    Vacuum pump tutorial

Be sure to use Lock-Tite, especially the two bolts that bolt it to the Engine. Another great write up on VP`s. I have several I dragged home from PNP for spares. I grab the mounting Bracket with it, last time I bought one, I think it was $35. That was over a year ago. Good ole PNP is good at...

One thing I noticed after I got the Dyna Mat down. On hot days the tar oozez around the edges of the seams and gets stuck to the carpet on the back side, and anything else it touches. I don`t have my Sill Plates installed yet, and I see the Tar stuck to the edge of the carpet. Be a good Idea...

So what did you do with your truck today?

I have seen the little clamps used to hold down a Camper Shell. Always thought with wind resistence and shaking and twisting of the bed going down the road over the years, they would loosen up. I guess maybe some people Bolt them down to the bed. I have a friend in eastern Oregon that has two...

So what did you do with your truck today?

Trucks need Tie down Hooks on the side of the Bed to tie down things. When I bought the 86 back in 2014, there were 3 originally down ea side, probably an option when new. I think one or two were missing as when they were installed, a hole was Drilled into the sheet metal and a sheet metal screw...

Hard Start - Glow Plugs / Air Intrusion Help!

Iam using the 80034 Plugs for the first time this winter. They heat slower than the Beru Plugs. Iam finding I hit the toggle at least 20 seconds to get her to start. Depends how cold it is, colder maybe longer. Do not use the 80034 with the GP Controller. EDIT: Some of the colder mornings I...
