Just had 2 tire issues. Giving up on my replacement Mexican radiator, now going to try a aluminium Chinese radiator. Got to get things straight for the rally.

My wife Cathie and myself. Reserved one of the parks campers. Now for the whole week but it could be shorter so we can visit my cousin in KY.

Well I'm very new to 6.0s. My son just did a cab off head stud job and head rebuild. Now it cranks normal speed and slowly builds pressure to start. Runs fine once started. Just wondering where an "air test" is described. Thanks. By the way I'm am an IDI guy.

Read around the site. There are a lot of really knowledgeable people at oil burners and a local shop might not know the ins and outside of these IDIs

We all need a little patience like it was said Amazon schedule is way different than mine or ours. Respond back when you get your item and if all is well.

My personal thoughts on WMO usage.
Settle,
Pour 1 gallon gasoline.
Pour 4 gallons WMO on top.
Settle at least 3 weeks.
Pour off 4 gallons for fuel. Scrap bottom 1 gallon.
Mix with diesel ( at least 15percent).
Use above 50 degree weather.
Enjoy.

Lot of activity on the board. Good to hear from all that is attending and not so good for the ones that are going to miss the rally.
Normal stuff that taking my attention:
Replaced starter on truck with a Powermaster starter. Someone was right it spins fast but sound like tearing metal at the...
Cathie and I booked one of the onsite camper trailers. Don't have a camper at the present and pulling a camper that far is a task. Made the reservations for the whole week and will modify as it gets closer.
Truck now has 161k on the speedo. Pretty much a daily driver work truck.
Things...
Do you know what the service bulletin is for the drain back issue and do you sell the check valves. Pm me with the details that would be great. I have another IDI that is used for off road wood hauling (spare parts if needed) that has the drain back issue. Thanks
Been working through some starter issues myself. The starter that was in my truck it turned at a good speed compared to the original starter that was spinning at two thirds speed (guess) replaced last year. I had another glow plug issue (2 bad) I cranked for two or three cycles then the starter...
Thanks for the update. I went to the other thread for an update and chillman88 sent me here. Guess I should have looked more before posting all is well. Thanks Jared and Heath for checking it out. Now the planning for the trip and fixing of the trucks start.
Hey just checking. My wife Cathie is planning on her beach trip with some of her friends (A girls weekend). Are you planning on the second week in July? Later or earlier?
My experience was:
Turbo ed a NA motor. Had previously turned up the pump (stock original factory). Smoked when pulling up a hill (black) unless boost was at 4 psi or more Try to not go over 1000 degrees.
At the last rally had the motor re-timed and it was about 1-2 degrees advanced. Backed off...
One of my faults ( or blessings) is that I like to see how things work. Before this truck I never seen a glow plug or completely understood how they did what they do. Also if a person keeps track they are a good indicator of what is happening in the engine, but by using used plugs the data could...
If your tire appears to have a broken belt change it pronto.
I have been lucky so far when belts broke on me. Kinda feels like its out of round about 20 mph but goes away when you get above that (might not feel that in a dually). Once I changed a tire that failed and left it in my driveway for...
The best thing I did was add a 1994 Ford Turbo set up I got from Towcat couple years ago. Pyro is needed for any fuel adjustments. My guess 148 or possible 248 by the engine look. The break pedal will show a lot. Corner worn to smooth rubber 100k plus, worn completely to metal on a corner 200k...
After my truck got much slower starting this week (in Maryland). I had to put the glow plugs to the top of the list. When ever you glow plug controller times out very fast most likely a glow plug or several plugs are burnt open. My truck had three that burnt open and a couple weak ones. Put the...
Now a glow plug. Four things needed for this job. Topside creeper, can of copper never seze, mulit meter for ohms readings and a jumper wire set to test plugs
