    Rob's '93 at the dyno!

Is there plans to do any cam changes with the turbo upgrade? I hope to build an engine for myself someday and keep going back and forth on a 90cc or 110cc IP to achieve 300 to 350 crank hp. I figure either will make the power, it will just depend on how well the rest of the engine is tuned to...

    Commercial tire question

While I can't give specific advice on the indicated size, I have watched through myself and friends which brands are worth running and which are not. The one's to stay away from are Toyo and Bridgestone. We don't see great life out of these with heavy (3/4 and 1 ton) vehicles or when used to...

Suspension Gurus, please step in here!!!

I absolutely would have the tires inspected first. They may have an unseen issue, hard to say. What I can say is that it would be difficult to find someone to give you an unbiased opinion of the tires. However, if you have a quality shop to look at the front end I would have them also give...

Suspension Gurus, please step in here!!!

This is not to start an argument when I ask this, but can tire related "death wobble" come and go as is being described? My personal experience with a tire having separations issues was the speed or conditions were irrelevant, the vibration was noticeable always. I do realize that I have...

Clutch linkage? On side of road with kid

If you have an auto OBS laying around, or happen through a junkyard you can find the bypass plug for the clutch switch. Auto trucks have the harness tucked up under the driver's side dash which would normally plug into the clutch pedal box.

Suspension Gurus, please step in here!!!

Asking for my own knowledge, does the "reverse" rotation cause ply separation or aggravate it? I've had tires fail due to ply separation typically from age or poor quality, and is it possible to create that problem through bad maintenance practice?

Suspension Gurus, please step in here!!!

So I know so little about the SD 2wd suspensions that this could just be a moment of nonsense and hopefully more knowledgeable folks will correct me. But..... does the SD 2wd use balljoints, and could this wobble be the result of a failing ball joint or camber bushing? Slight turn causes a...

Suspension Gurus, please step in here!!!

And this could also be a frozen steering u-joint. If he has the auto hubs and they are still in auto mode the slight turn would get the front axle shafts to start a bad wobble. I've had friends with SD have that, it's not the easiest fix but it is fairly cheap if you can do most of the work...

    Injector leak at shutdown??

As I understand it, there is the Mitsubishi (inline reduction) and Nippendenso (offset reduction) styles. If this is incorrect, please advice.

brick nose to OBS heater control swap?

I'm a bit curious about his myself as I wanted a panel/floor option with the floor/defrost that "mix" is on the OBS. However I am not so willing to do the Lincoln climate control swap that I've read about. Awesome to have, but my sausage like fingers aren't going to attempt it.

    a weird one

Even though it's gasoline, could the issue be cold temperature and fuel starvation? The alcohol has a higher "freeze" point, or at least where it starts to gel. And if there is any water build-up from the ethanol fuel attracting it then the cold temps could cause the higher pressure fuel...

86 f250 Front End rebuild kit help

Energy Suspension Parts puts together a few kits. They have steering component, bushing, and u joint kits. Give them a look. It's all Moog and Energy parts.

    Injector leak at shutdown??

Could it be in your ignition switch? I have to think back several years, but I seem to remember mine getting fussy and it just needed replaced. If you happen to have another Ford laying around you could quickly swap out the ignitions and test that.

    Injector leak at shutdown??

I agree with @Thewespaul and @towcat. I would look at your cables and test your batteries. I had a very similar situation last year and it took me several tries before I finally got the bad battery to show on a tester. Also it could be in the ignition switch itself, like it's causing a delay...

    Body bushings?

So while you're looking through radius arm options I will toss this one at you. Bloody Knuckle Garage, used to be CAGE Off Road, and has long or short radius arms for axle swaps. Very similar to James Duff, which I would also recommend. Buddies have used both for swapping in solid axles under...

    Injectors

I have seen the auto parts store packaging, with one injector inside a large foam coffin and I think those did have the copper washer on them. You're likely right that the smaller shops package differently, and thus no washer preinstalled.

My stage 1's from R&D did not have copper washers installed either. Loose with the injectors.

    Injectors

Is it recommended to paint the exposed portion of the injector body? I swapped mine out in January, used anti-seize on the threads but left the rest bare. Anyone have a reason to do more than that? Personally I like to place plastic caps on any exposed threads while installing. Likely your...

    Body bushings?

Hardware-wise I would encourage you to check your radiator bolts at least. Those usually take a beating from the batteries and typically aren't reusable. Everything I've read, nearly everyone says they get destroyed coming apart. If you're not residing in an area with high levels of NaCl...

    Body bushings?

Energy Suspension has the poly mounts with hardware now. I haven't swapped mine, that is upcoming possibly this winter. What I can say is I doubt the ride will improve with body mounts. I replaced all my suspension bushings with Energy poly and it did make it handle better, but still rode...

Anyone local to southern California want to time a truck

You're both right. A large set of channel lock pliers will rotate the pump and loosening the lines makes it much easier. Snap on has a double open end wrench that makes getting the pump nuts loose and tight much easier. $40 but it greatly simplifies the job.

    Ats,banks vs factory turbo

That's what I have understood, just wanted to make sure I didn't overlook a thread. I've read about updated castings for the ATS 093/Factory setup, cams, wastegate mods spread all throughout the IDI section. Just wanted to make sure I wasn't blind. Couldn't see the forest through the trees...

I'm with @92 brown truck for the list of mods. I have looked, honestly. Is there a thread out there of @typ4's mods? If it is I am either blind or incapable of properly searching.

    Newish, couple questions.

There are a couple cage ideas I've seen that I really liked. The first was done on 4WOR UA Project Super Dirty where they made a hybrid interior/exterior cage that tucked inside the pillars for more interior space. The second is on D & C Extreme's website, they have flat plate front legs so...

    Are these olives?

Or flare compression fitting and flare packing are a few terms I've heard dealing with equipment. But yes olives, which go with the main lines coming from filter head to IP, and from mechanical fuel pump to fuel filter.
